It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of Mary Turgeon, Principal at Gawron Turgeon Dillon Architects, P.C. at the end of 2024. For over 38 years, Mary has been a guiding force behind our firm’s success, shaping the design landscape of Maine and beyond with her exceptional vision, creativity, and leadership. Her commitment to client-centered design has left a mark on countless projects, including senior living homes, medical offices, corporate spaces, and much, much more! Mary’s dedication will extend beyond her time at GTD; she has mentored colleagues, fostered a culture of collaboration within our team, and her passion for architecture and interior design will remain an inspiration for us all. Thank you, Mary, for everything you have done to shape Gawron Turgeon Dillon Architects, P.C., the countless projects you’ve had a hand in, and the communities we serve. While we are sad that you won’t be in the office, we are delighted for you and look forward to seeing what this next stage brings. We wish you the very best in your retirement and look forward to seeing you sooner than later- whether it be stopping by the office for a visit or out on Maine’s beautiful coast!

Last week, GTD shut down our computers and picked up plants at Terrarium in Portland, ME! We had a blast putting together some new terrariums for the office, and thankfully for some of us, we won't need to water them for a few months! ??

Our recent work with the Town of Bangor, ME has been highlighted in Bangor Daily News! Working with the town, we have designed six preapproved housing options to use for free in the town, in an effort to expediate the creation of housing in the area. Happy Women in Construction Week AND International Women's Day from Gawron Turgeon Dillon Architects, P.C.! GTD is proud to be a women-owned small business, and we are honored to have the opportunity to work with talented women on our team, and in the A/E/C industry as a whole!

You may have received our most recent newsletter and seen our highlight of our work done at OceanView at Falmouth's Fitness Center! We designed an encompassing fitness center for the campus, including a turf area, intentional use of space for a range of equipment, and more, all positioned on the corner with easy access for residents. We've enjoyed being a part of the development at OceanView, and wanted to share a time lapse of the construction of this specific project 5 years ago!

We're excited to share photos and info from our completed work at Biddeford Saco Dental Associates in Saco, ME! Finished up in November 2024, GTD was brought on to provide design services for an expansion, addition, and interior design of the second floor and addition of the practice. The addition included a stair tower, elevator, and lobby to pair with their second-floor space totaling approx. 6,165 square feet. GTD assisted with renovations and interior design changes on the second floor, including operatories, a lab, clinical space, offices, waiting area, and more.

A huge congratulations to our Associate & Director of Interior Design, Deirdre Pio, CHID, CSI, CDT for hitting a milestone anniversary at Gawron Turgeon Dillon this week- 30 YEARS! Deirdre's impact over the last three decades has been clear, both has a talented designer, and as a leader. She has been an integral part in GTD's success and portfolio of projects in Maine and beyond. Thank you for being a part of what makes Gawron Turgeon Dillon Architects great Deirdre!
