关于我们
The Global Sustainable Investment Alliance (GSIA) is a group of the world’s largest regional and national sustainable investment representative organisations who collaborate to deepen and expand the practice of sustainable, responsible and impact investment through intentional international cooperation. The organisations in GSIA have the deepest reach into the world’s largest sustainable and responsible investment markets, from retail to institutional investors. GSIA is a recognised thought leader in responsible and sustainable investment at the global level. Since 2012, GSIA has released a global biennial study that is the most comprehensive, pre-eminent and highly cited source report on the size, growth and dynamics of the responsible and sustainable investment industry. GSIA is comprised of the sustainable investment membership organisations in the US, Canada, Australasia, Japan, EU, Netherlands and the UK with a combined membership of many hundreds of investment organisations managing trillions of dollars of assets. GSIA’s mission is to unlock the power of the worldwide financial services industry to drive leadership, achieve a substantial impact on key global challenges, and accelerate the transition to a sustainable future. GSIA simultaneously works to enhance the synergies between members, participate in global initiatives, and provide advice and support to local and regional sustainable investment organisations as they setup and grow. Our vision is a world where sustainable investment is integrated into financial systems and the investment chain and where all regions of the world have coverage by vigorous membership based institutions that represent and advance the sustainable investment community.

Consensus on the urgency of climate action has long since been reached. Governments and corporations around the world have set ambitious decarbonisation targets. So why is the flow of climate finance still too slow and why are climate-harmful projects still being financed? It's Finance Day at #COP29 and to mark the occasion, GSIA have launched a new report exposing the gap between investor and policymaker incentives. To drive a just and equitable #transition, we need to solve the following key barriers to alignment: ? Policy Vacuum:?Lack of clear and supportive policies. ? Interest:?Prioritising short-term gains over long-term sustainability. ? Valuation:?Underestimating environmental and social factors. ? Ownership:?Passive investment approaches hinder change. ? Transition Misalignment:?Difficulty in transitioning certain sectors and business models. Join us in advocating for a more sustainable financial system and share the report with your peers and policymaker network. We’ve included helpful guides with actionable strategies for engaging with investors and policymakers. Was great to speak at the Principles for Responsible Investment conference in Toronto today, where I shared a preview of the Global Sustainable Investment Alliance’s forthcoming research. Our report focuses on the range of misaligned incentives that continue to encourage rational investors to allocate capital to #unsustainable assets. The report, which will be launched around #cop29, is designed to help policymakers understand how capital flows work and to design policy that will move capital in a positive direction, whilst recognising that robust and consistent government policy is an essential ingredient of a successful #transition.

The Global Sustainable Investment Alliance (GSIA), a collaboration of membership-based sustainable investment organisations representing major markets and hundreds of financial institutions, will present research on #SystemsChange to be presented at #COP29 in November 2024. ? James Alexander, Chair of?GSIA?and CEO of UKSIF, said, "Despite the significant momentum in sustainable investment, the system into which our members invest is not yet aligned with long-term sustainability goals – and that needs to change.? ? “Building on systems reform work underway elsewhere, we will present an analysis from the perspective of our members, including a rationale for systems change, an analysis of the interplay of financial markets and the real economy into which we invest, and the steps policymakers and financial institutions can take to make progress on systems reform." ? The?GSIA's research is expected to recommend that policymakers adopt a whole-of-government response to meeting the goals of the #ParisClimateAgreement, with targeted recommendations for national and local policymakers, investors, and stakeholders.? ? By presenting these recommendations at COP 29, the?GSIA?aims to help catalyse a global shift towards the actions and policy changes necessary to transition and decarbonise at pace and at scale to achieve the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement. The?GSIA?board will oversee the research, which will be led by Canbury, a sustainability consultancy, co-founded by Will Martindale, former director of policy at PRI, and author of “Responsible Investment: An Insider’s Account”. ? As part of the research, Will Martindale will conduct interviews with select participants. GSIA is currently in the process of identifying suitable interviewees. If you are interested in participating, please contact Will Martindale directly at [email protected] to express your interest and discuss further details.

We have signed the statement by Principles for Responsible Investment, LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group), the WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development and the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative – along with 120 investors, stock exchanges, corporates and industry associations – calling on jurisdictions to commit by 2025 to adopting the #ISSB standards. The ISSB’s first set of standards are an opportunity to achieve needed harmonisation in corporate sustainability reporting, and to provide investors with better and more comparable data to inform their decisions. Therefore, jurisdictions should adopt these standards to ensure they are widely and effectively implemented by the market. https://lnkd.in/ei2UV3dp #SustainabilityReporting #SustainableFinance
