Today, we are thrilled to share an inspiring story that embodies the essence of our mission, brought to you by one of our dedicated Placement Specialist, Jayme Batiste. Jayme's commitment to empowering individuals to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities is at the heart of what we do. Recently, Jayme had the privilege of working closely with a client who faced numerous challenges due to their background. Despite these hurdles, our client's determination and our collective support led to a life-changing outcome. Our client embarked on their journey with Goodwill Central Texas, enrolling in our Ready To Work (RTW) program in March of 2023. With the guidance of their Case Manager, they obtained their CDL license while addressing transportation and financial barriers. Yet, the journey didn't end there. Over the course of three months, Jayme collaborated with our client to refine their resume, sharpen their interview skills, and address any remaining barriers hindering their job search. Despite facing closed doors and limited opportunities, our client persisted. With Jayme's steadfast advocacy and support, we partnered with GSG Talent Solutions to secure an ideal employment opportunity. The result? An on-the-spot job offer that transformed obstacles into steppingstones towards a gratifying career. This success story is a testament to the resilience of our clients and the impact of our collective efforts. Together, we are not only finding jobs but transforming lives and communities. A Time to Be GRATEFUL and reflect on some of our team's incredible MISSION MOMENTS this year. With Thanksgiving around the corner, GSG has been reflecting and cherishing some of this year’s MISSION MOMENTS. We are grateful for the opportunity to support our community members in their career path, and grateful to celebrate some incredible moments of achievement, despite obstacles at times. The below story is a great one. Enjoy! "Our client, Joy, was brought to us by our partners BSPS, within Goodwill Central Texas. After our initial skills assessment, Joy was astonished to learn she could be considered for an accountant position. This role would offer a considerable jump in compensation from her previous admin level salary. Despite lacking accounting experience, we reassured her that she possessed the relevant skills we were seeking. This role would be ideal in offering an opportunity to acquire a new skill set and the potential for full-time employment. Joy's enthusiasm was contagious, and with some coaching, she excelled in the interview, securing the job offer immediately. Since joining GSG, Joy has truly blossomed. She obtained a rewarding position, allowing her to acquire new skillset that would ultimately support a long-term career. Despite a few obstacles, which had impacted her job search in the past, Joy's partnership with GSG has illuminated a promising professional path for her. Joy began her Accountant II position in early Spring this year. She quickly mastered the necessary skills for this role and became a treasured member of her team. Her journey is a testament to resiliency and the power of perseverance."
