Till October 2024, the Indian Rupee had depreciated 1% year-on-year compared to the USD. It has further fallen to an all-time low and is now over 2.5% down against the dollar. Looking at other countries, Brazil's and Russia's currencies have depreciated, too. On the other hand, China and Europe saw their currencies strengthen.

🚗💡 Clearing the Confusion: GST on Used Cars 💡🚗 There’s been a lot of chatter about 18% GST on used cars lately. Unfortunately, much of it is filled with misinformation. Let’s break it down and clarify the facts: 🔍 Who does this apply to? This GST applies only to GST-registered entities—companies that buy and sell used cars for profit. Platforms like Cars24 or Spinny. If you’re buying or selling a car directly between individuals, this GST doesn’t apply. ✅ 🆕 Is this a new tax? No, this is not a new tax. Earlier, some used cars attracted 12% GST. Now, the rate has been increased to 18% for certain categories, like Electric Vehicles (EVs). 💸 Does GST apply to losses? Absolutely not! GST is charged only on profits. Example: A dealer buys a car for ₹10 lakh and sells it for ₹11 lakh → GST is charged on the ₹1 lakh profit. (₹1 lakh × 18% = ₹18,000) If the dealer sells the same car at a loss (₹10 lakh → ₹9 lakh), no GST is charged. 📊 What does this mean for buyers? If you’re buying a car from a GST-registered dealer, the tax is included in the price. Previously, the GST rate was 12%, but now it’s 18%—which will increase the final price for buyers. 📜 A bit of history: Before 2018, used cars were taxed at a 28% GST rate. This was later reduced to 12%–18% based on the car type. Now, all used cars sold by GST-registered dealers will uniformly attract 18% GST. 💡 Key takeaways: GST on used cars applies only to GST-registered entities (not individuals). The tax is calculated only on profits. Let’s clear the air and ensure everyone understands the implications. Share this post to spread clarity! 🙌

Pierre Omidyar was confused. He was working at a job. Over the weekends, he had built a side project. The year was 1995, and the internet was brand new. Omidyar – an Iranian immigrant born in France – had built a few technology products before as well. He was wondering if he could build an online auction website - a website that would eventually be called eBay. Read more 👇

The Race for 10-Minute Food Delivery: Who Will Win? 🍔🚀 India's two biggest food delivery giants, Zomato and Swiggy, have not just made their mark in the food delivery space—they’ve taken their strategies a step further. After raising over ₹13,000 crores from investors through IPOs and dominating food delivery, they’ve now set their sights on the next big battlefield: 10-minute food delivery. 🔹 Swiggy's Bold Move with ‘Bolt’ Swiggy has joined the race with Bolt, already accounting for over 5% of its food business. It’s partnering with big brands like Chaayos, KFC, and McDonald's, aiming to deliver fast, quick-to-pack items within a 2 KM radius. 🔹 Zomato’s Experiment with ‘Zomato Instant’ Zomato first attempted 10-minute food delivery with Zomato Instant in 2022. However, the venture faced challenges around rider safety, supply chain issues, and profitability. Despite this, Zomato reassured the public that the initiative has not been shut down, but is rather evolving into something new—a fresh menu called Zomato Everyday, with less emphasis on "10-minute" food. 🔹 Differentiation in the Strategy Swiggy’s approach is focused on partnering with brands and delivering pre-packaged meals, while Zomato used "finishing stations" stocked with top-selling dishes from local favourites to speed up delivery times. With the food delivery landscape constantly evolving, the question remains: Which player will emerge victorious in the 10-minute food delivery race? 🏁💡
