?? Kicking Off National Careers Week 2024! ?? This week (3–8 March), we celebrate National Careers Week (NCW)—a time to recognise the power of careers education and the collective efforts of educators, employers, and organisations working together to help young people transition successfully into the world of work. We want our region’s young residents to have the skills, information, advice, and guidance they need to reach their full potential. Our Careers Hub Cambridgeshire and Peterborough brings together education providers, employers, and the wider business community. We work with careers leads in schools, providing resources and supporting relationships with volunteers from the world of work who share their industry insights with students. Students can also find information about the opportunities available within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The Careers Hub is an organised partnership between The Careers & Enterprise Company and the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority and supported by Form the Future CIC. Learn more about the Careers Hub here >> https://orlo.uk/3JxVF ?? You can catch the Careers Hub team at the Health and Care Career Expo at Kingsgate Conference Centre on Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 March! Come along and explore opportunities in the health and care sector. This #NCW2024, let's celebrate the progress made and redouble our efforts to ensure every young person has the guidance they need to succeed! #NationalCareersWeek #CareersEducation #FutureSkills #EmployerEngagement #YoungPeople #CareerGuidance

I’ve met some brilliant individuals over the years, but taking part in the grant funded internship program put together by Nicola March & team over at the CPCA Growth Hub has been incredible. ???????? In January, we took on Lauren Williams who excelled in her role at Realise Finance, and at the end of February, we brought on Cerys Laws - I’m excited to see how Cerys’ journey goes throughout March! Opportunities like this are amazing - they give a young person their first foot in the door to gain some hands on experience, something which is hard to come by in the real world. I’ve tried to ensure we give our interns proper exposure to business, so they walk away after the six weeks with a whole heap of new skills. Last week, we attended an awards afternoon and got to meet other business owners / interns who had participated in the program. ?? Sadly, Tori was catching some winter sun over in Tenerife, so missed out on the photo opportunity! ?? I’m looking forward to future opportunities, for both ourselves and our clients to support more amazing young people locally. ??

Our team attended the Growth Works with Skills Internship Awards yesterday afternoon where we learned that they placed an incredible 111 interns with 39 business - and 90% of those internships were classed as a success. ???? We heard multiple stories of success and how other businesses and charities used the scheme as a recruitment tool with the ambition of keeping people employed. Our very own Noah Partridge was one of those successful placements. Not only that, but Noah won the Customer Excellence award and now has a nice shiny trophy to show off. ?? Well done Noah! ??
