Just a couple more schools left before all 1,180 Construction Kits are delivered to our local schools!
GROW SARPY has been busy dropping off construction kits to our local schools. Friday @North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters delivered Construction Kits to Bellevue West Sr High School. They talked to students about a career path in Carpentry through their Unions. Today, Black Hills Energy presented to a full classroom at Papillion La Vista South High School, where they talked about the services they provide to our communities and available career opportunities. They even brought along some visual aids!

This is the 4th year Grow Sarpy has partnered with local businesses and communities to supply construction kits to students in Sarpy County. This year we held our first Assembly Event, that brought our sponsors and volunteers together to assemble 1,180 construction kits for students. Volunteers were provided lunch and heard from Breshanna Weathers with Heartland Workforce Solutions regarding their Youth Employment program. Thank you to all our sponsors and those who volunteered!
Last week, GROW SARPY, along with community and business leaders assembled 1,180 construction kits for local students participating in trade classes for the 24/25 school year. By providing these kits, our goal is to increase students' interest in the skilled trades and familiarize them with companies and career opportunities in the area. We are so thankful for our sponsors and volunteers. This would not be possible without each and everyone of you!

Don Nordell, operations manager at Black Hills Energy, noted significant growth in Sarpy County to the tune of installing 1,100 new residential and commercial meters, as well as 107,000 feet in regional service lines.
