As International Women's Month ends, I'm grateful for all the invitations to hear women share their stories of empowerment and resilience!
The term "Golden Unicorn" was new to me. No, it's not an age thing. Thank you, Rocki Howard!
I decided to investigate the meaning more deeply and share it because I firmly believe many of us have these qualities; we need to believe in ourselves and let our light shine bright. I hope this empowers YOU!?????
1) Resilience & Rarity: Like the elusive golden unicorn, women in business often face unique challenges due to historical gender biases and societal expectations. Our journey can be rare and remarkable, and we must have BOLDNESS to share our stories. Just as the unicorn perseveres despite its rarity, women demonstrate resilience, breaking through barriers to achieve success.
2) Strength & Grace: The unicorn’s strength lies not in brute force but in its elegance. Similarly, women leaders bring a blend of strength and grace to the corporate landscape. We navigate complexities with finesse, leading teams and organizations with a balanced approach.
3) Authenticity: Unicorns are authentic and unapologetically themselves. In business, authenticity is a powerful asset. Women who embrace their uniqueness - whether it’s their leadership style, perspectives, or experiences DO create meaningful impacts.
4) Collaboration & Unity: The unicorn’s horn, often depicted as a single spiraled structure, symbolizes unity. Women leaders understand the value of collaboration, fostering inclusive environments where diverse voices contribute to collective success.
5) Breaking Chains: Just as the Scottish unicorn wears a golden chain, women in business break free from societal constraints. They challenge norms, advocate for equality, and pave the way for future generations.
6) Balancing Yin & Yang: Women leaders harmonize analytical thinking with empathy and intuition, which fosters innovation and holistic decision-making.
7) Quest for Excellence: Unicorns embark on quests for hidden treasures; in some cases, we are hidden treasures not recognized for our efforts. However, we have a lasting impact that leaves a mark even once we are gone. Some would call this legacy.
Golden Unicorns are women who, in everyday life, strive for excellence, seek growth, learn from others, and impact others while checking our egos makes the world a better place!
