London has topped the World’s Best Cities ranking for the 10th year in a row! The announcement was made yesterday by Resonance, in partnership with Ipsos, at a press launch in the UK capital, where our CEO, Laura Citron OBE and Chris Fair, Resonance President & CEO shared the results with a wide range of press. The ranking went into detail about the city’s lovability, liveability and prosperity, stating ‘The synergy between London’s historical legacy and its modern ambitions positions it as not just a city of the present, but a metropolis of the future,’. Last week, Grow London Global headed east with a delegation of 14 of London’s most exciting CreaTech and EnterpriseTech companies from our cohorts, led by Deputy Mayor of London for Business, Howard Dawber. ? Over the week, we met with hundreds of company representatives, investors, government figures and more, as our companies had the chance to make new connections and gain new insights as they look to expand into the APAC region. Another fantastic Meet the Corporate session took place with Shiseido – one of the world’s largest cosmetics companies. Onto our final session of the trade mission! We headed into a Meet the Corporate session with another leading Japanese corporate who run their APAC operations from Singapore, dentsu – one of the largest advertising agency networks on the planet ?? London Life Sciences Week has officially begun! ?? London Life Sciences Week (LLSW) started with a remarkable evening yesterday at the ‘Welcome to London’ Reception hosted by MedCity and the BioIndustry Association (BIA) Association. ??The evening saw sector leaders, academics, and senior decision-makers come together to begin the Life Sciences week of the year. Kicking off with a welcome address from MedCity CEO Dr Angela Kukula, we heard about the new Life Sciences Global Cities Report that places London as the leading destination in Europe for life sciences, and the recent launch of the London Offer for Life Sciences ?? ?? We then heard from BioIndustry Association's CEO Steve Bates OBE FMedSci, who highlighted the opportunities in London through investor and government support, in particular the profound talent in London, pertaining to the number of leading global universities within the city. London & Partners CEO Laura Citron OBE spoke about the strengths of the London offer, highlighting the talent, growth, and innovation in the city, including the importance of life sciences as a priority sector within the London 10-year growth plan ?? ?? The event was followed by an energetic networking evening with conversations centering on how this incredible city is primed to support life sciences innovation, growth, setting up a business in London, and improved patient outcomes. The final stop of our non-stop day saw us head to the Residence of the British High Commissioner to Singapore, for our very special London Tech Comes to Singapore networking reception with UK in Singapore and British Chamber of Commerce Singapore (BritCham) ? ?? Our London delegates had the opportunity to meet with representatives from NCS Group, NTUC FairPrice, the LEGO Group and with many more participants, including investors and those operating in the real estate, IT and ecommerce spaces.
