21K SaaS Marketers just got a bunch of rad insights in their inboxes, but instead of our typical recap post, I want to share Brendan's opening note because it's, well, really good. ??
"Don’t be so worried about focusing on what’s next, at the peril of what’s best." ????

This week, Gary Vee wrote a eulogy for search engines, but he missed something pretty important…
In his video, he says “gen alpha won’t even know what a search engine is.”
First, let’s talk about incentives - SEO agencies like to say social media is dying. Social media agencies (like Gary’s), will suggest search engines are dying.
He also claims he’s seen 15-year-old kids turning their parents from Googling to ChatGPT.
SparkToro has shown this simply is not happening, either.
But neither of those are even my point!
What he missed is that kids have always communicated and used technology different from the business world…
Until they’re in it.
Gen alpha might not know what a search engine is (I disagree but let’s assume), but they aren’t going to control any sort of budget until 2060.
I get that these “[marketing thing] is dead” posts get a lot of traction, but the timeline is SO far away that diversifying now leaves a ton of cash on the table.
Pay attention to what your customers are doing *now.*
If you’re in most B2B verticals, your customers are using search engines, on LinkedIn, and on YouTube.
Don’t be so worried about focusing on what’s next, at the peril of what’s best.
