Dustin has been an incredible asset to our Communities In Schools National Office Tulsa team. But also to Growing Together’s community. Maria Sepúlveda is currently working as a Community School Manager at Sequoyah Elementary in the Kendall-Whittier Neighborhood. She has an eye for opportunities and ways to engage other community partners to provide services for our students. She launched a mentorship program in collaboration with The University of Tulsa ‘s Football Team. Several students dedicate an hour of their time every week to spend time with students, play, read and become a role model for these kids. We are thankful for Zachary Neilsen for his encouraging example and efforts to make impactful relationships with the students, but also creating their path for successful futures! #GrowingTogether #Mentors #RoleModels

Communities In Schools National Office has been a key partner in the Education work we do in the multiple school sites at Tulsa Public Schools. Our CIS coordinators work tirelessly to improve attendance and create channels for resources to funnel directly to the students in their case load. We love seeing the work and relationship between our Growing Together, Inc. staff and their school leaders. Thank you Bella for all the work you do at East Central Middle School.

Growing Together, Inc. always seeks to collaborate with partners and initiatives that help our community advance the barriers and limitations that they may face in their daily lives. Tulsa Educare with Early Learning Works provides books, meals and conversation to empower families in their reading skills with their children with the program #TalkingIsTeaching. Through Oklahoma State University's extension partnership we have #PapásFuertes, a 12 week program for dads (completely in Spanish). As part of the adult education, we are offering for the second semester, ESL classes where students have the opportunity to learn English by only paying for their workbook!
