Grow Ahead is an organization that supports small-scale farmer-led reforestation projects.
关于我们
‘Grow Ahead’ is an online lending and funding program that connects individuals and organizations directly to small-scale family farmer organizations. Grow Ahead provides funds and resources to small-scale farmer organizations in the global south through peer to peer capacity building and training, loans for farmer-driven resiliency projects and scholarships for farm leaders to share and multiply their knowledge in their local communities and region. Industrial agriculture and food production is a major contributor to climate change. Small farmers practicing regenerative agriculture can feed the world and cool the planet.

As Black History Month comes to a close, we thought it important to highlight the groundbreaking work of Black farmers throughout American history. In our newest blog post, "Black Farmers in America: A Legacy of Hardship and Resilience" you'll learn about two farmers that paved the way for modern organic and regenerative agriculture. Grow Ahead also acknowledges the current efforts to erase Black history and culture and will continue to share stories and resources that uplift BIPOC communities. https://lnkd.in/eWcgqrRt

Your $25 donation to women cocoa farmers earns you 3 Dr. Bronner's All-One Magic Chocolate Bars! But how does that chocolate go from tree to treat? Our cocoa farming partners at KANY exclusively utilize regenerative organic agriculture which means zero agrochemicals, regular weeding and pruning, and soil preservation. Farmers harvest ripe cocoa pods every 15 days (slide 1.) From there, the pods are opened and the perfect bright white beans are chosen for the fermentation step (slide 2.) At KANY, fermentation and drying is done with a solar dryer, perfectly developing the characteristics flavors and aroma of cocoa (slide 3.) From there, the now dry cocoa beans are roasted, ground, mixed with other delicious ingredients, and heated to the perfect temperature to turn into your favorite chocolate bars! (slide 4) It takes roughly 400+ beans to create one pound of chocolate! With all this in mind, we are more grateful than ever for the hard work of our farming partners at KANY. Your $25 donation directly impacts 500 women farmers and gives you the opportunity to literally taste their hard work. https://lnkd.in/eW6JXwBd #Chocolate #BeanToBar #KANY #GrowAhead #WomenFarmers

Grow Ahead and Passion Lilie have officially teamed up to plant trees! Online customers can now plant a tree with their Passion Lilie purchase to balance the carbon footprint of shipping to their doorstep. The trees are planted in farmer-led agroforestry systems that benefit families through food security and income diversification, all while storing carbon. Passion Lilie has also committed to taking responsibility for the emissions that come along with running a business by planting trees quarterly in those same agroforestry systems. Head to https://lnkd.in/erg_ubn to learn more about the projects being supported! We can’t wait to see what impact we can make together
