It’s an honor to support the health of the next generation through innovations that make screening smoother and more comforting.
We’re proud to be a part of the newborn bloodspot screening (NBS) program in the Netherlands, helping to make the heel prick process easier and less stressful for both practitioners and families. ??
?? A recent study highlights that over 99% of parents opt for NBS, largely due to its role in preventing health complications for their newborns. While most parents appreciate the current NBS program, a substantial 95% also support expanding it to include more treatable conditions, even those that might not show symptoms until later in life.
?? Parents who declined NBS often cited lifestyle beliefs, religious values, and concerns over pain as reasons. Interestingly, they were also less informed about NBS benefits compared to those who participated.
This high acceptance underlines the program’s success in early disease detection, and why maintaining and expanding this critical service over the next 50 years will remain essential. It’s an honor to support the health of the next generation through innovations that make screening smoother and more comforting. ???? #NewbornHealth #BloodspotScreening #HealthcareInnovation #Retomed Health
