As a candidate for the American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) National Advisory Board, one of my primary goals is to advocate for increased infrastructure investment. No surprise, you've all heard that from me before. But how? If we are going to advocate for investment in our facilities, we must also promote the importance of the facility management profession itself. This includes education, networking and communication beyond the current membership of the ASHE organization. As an example, I recently published an article in Facility Executive, a publication managed by Group C Media. An ASHE publication? No. A reference source for facility executives in multiple industries, including health care? Yes. Innovation requires more than just new ideas; it also requires a commitment to action and the ability to execute. I am ready for this challenge.
