关于我们
GroundWork specializes in the design, installation and maintenance of solar monitoring stations for utility-scale solar power plant developers and owner/operators. These on-site solar meteorological stations can greatly improve the bankability of a project in the development cycle, and meet ISO and other regulatory requirements in the plant environment for performance evaluation and forecasting. We are a value-added reseller for Campbell Scientific, EKO, Hukseflux, Irradiance, Kipp & Zonen and Lufft. GroundWork offers GroundWatch, a best-in-class meteorological operations & maintenance and data quality assurance program, developed in conjunction with National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Our qualified data sets have been used in support of resource assessments and energy production analysis performed by many of the independent engineers. In turn, our clients have built 45+ gigawatts of solar at those project sites.

🌩️Hail Season is Here – Monitor Your Solar Assets We understand that the risks of hail season are top of mind for solar plant operators in hail-prone regions. Severe weather is already impacting the Midwest and South, and the last thing you want is unexpected downtime or costly repairs due to hail damage. Our Hail Monitoring and Event Reporting service offers the highest level of accuracy for measuring hail events, enabling fast and reliable data for insurance and warranty claims, and for event validation. ✅ Eyewitness Hail Sensors: Measure hailstone size and kinetic energy with sensors deployed at horizontal and module plane of array, to characterize the event and quantify the reduction in hailstone kinetic energy when trackers stow. ✅ Continuous Monitoring: Rest assured, our sensors are always ready to take a hit, verified by 24/7 monitoring, hourly diagnostics, automatic firmware updates, and event-based reports. ✅ Proven Reliability: GroundWork handles installation, commissioning, and ongoing support. Contact us at sales@grndwork.com to discuss instrumenting your projects before the next storm hits. #HailSeason #GroundWork #HailMonitoring #SolarEnergy #SolarInnovation #RenewableEnergy https://lnkd.in/g_nYWr4d

GroundWork Recognized for Breakthrough Hail Impact Research at PVRW 2025 GroundWork Renewables, Inc. has been recognized at the 2025 NREL Photovoltaic Reliability Workshop (PVRW) for its innovative study on hail mitigation in utility-scale solar plants. The research is the first to quantify hail impact energy reduction in real-world conditions, offering valuable insights into the effectiveness of tracker stow angles during severe weather events. Conducted in partnership with Recurrent Energy at the North Fork Solar Project in Oklahoma, and validated at GroundWork’s PV Test Lab in Albuquerque, NM, the study combines field measurements with lab testing to improve risk modeling, support insurance assessments, and guide mitigation strategies. “This research helps us quantify and verify the resilience of our assets in the face of growing extreme weather risks,” said Michael Arndt, President of Recurrent Energy’s North America business. “By delivering real-world data alongside controlled lab results, GroundWork is providing a more complete picture of how to manage hail risk in solar operations,” added Ann Will, CEO of GroundWork. Key findings include: • Measurable reduction in hail kinetic energy through tracker stow positions • Alignment between field data and lab-based impact models • Improved understanding of storm microphysics and hail behavior • Enhanced ability to optimize stow strategies and inform insurance assessments Access the full press release here: https://lnkd.in/e8GWX4qR #HailMitigation #PVModules #CleanEnergy #SolarInnovation #PVRW2025 #UtilityScaleSolar #GroundWork #RecurrentEnergy #Renewables #ClimateResilience

GroundWork® Reveals a Direct Correlation Between Larger PV Modules and Increased Breakage: The Risks of Thinner Glass & Frames As the solar industry expands, so do the size of photovoltaic (PV) modules. However, larger modules come with an unexpected risk: increased breakage due to thinner glass and frames. Our latest research reveals a 70% decrease in strength as modules increase in size and material becomes thinner. 👉 Learn how these changes affect module performance and what steps you can take to mitigate the risk. Discover more in the article below. #SolarEnergy #PVModules #GroundWork #SolarInnovation #RenewableEnergy #SolarTech #ModuleDurability #SolarIndustry #SolarResearch #GroundWork
