  • Trump’s economic agenda isn’t about “fixing” anything—it’s about giving billionaires like Elon Musk free rein to exploit workers and families. Senior Fellow Kitty Richards breaks down the reality under Trump: gutted consumer protections, slashed Social Security services, and no guardrails against financial abuse.

President Trump claimed he would usher in a “Golden Age,” but the economy is already showing warning signs: ?? Rising inflation ?? Falling consumer confidence ?? Declining business investment ?? Stagnant labor market “Instead of focusing on tax breaks for billionaires and giant corporations, Trump should find a way to get the economy back on track for working families before it spirals into recession.” Alex Jacquez on ABC News: https://lnkd.in/eDUkcRfd

  • In just six weeks, President Trump’s economic agenda is already delivering for the wealthy—at the expense of working families. His latest scheme? A “strategic” crypto reserve, a taxpayer-funded windfall for tech billionaires. A real strategic reserve—like the Strategic Petroleum Reserve—exists to protect Americans in a crisis. A crypto reserve serves no such purpose. Instead, it’s a handout to Trump’s billionaire donors, the same people who stand to profit from it. This isn’t economic policy—it’s a massive transfer of public wealth to private interests. And while billionaires cash in, President Trump and his allies are pushing cuts to Medicaid, disaster relief, and food assistance—programs that millions of Americans rely on. • President Trump promised to lower prices on day one. But today, prices are still rising—and Americans have little faith that relief is coming. Instead of tackling the high cost of groceries, gas, and rent, Trump and his allies in Congress are pushing $4.5 trillion in tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans—paid for by slashing Medicaid, food assistance, and other programs millions of families rely on. Promise kept? Not so much.

  • House Republicans’ budget would kick millions off Medicaid and slash food assistance to just $1.67 per meal for the typical SNAP recipient—all while giving the wealthiest 0.1% an average tax cut of $278,000. The House Budget Committee’s own documents outline the cuts, even as GOP lawmakers pretend otherwise. The numbers don’t lie—just the people pushing them. • The headlines say it all. Consumer confidence is sinking. Inflation fears are back. Small businesses are losing optimism. No matter how Trump spins his economic agenda tonight, it’s clear Americans aren’t buying it.?

Tomorrow, President Trump will address Congress on the state of the economy 43 days into his second term. Here’s what he’ll have to show for himself: ?? Consumer sentiment plummeting ?? Wall Street and economists warning of slower growth ?? Small business optimism fading Instead of focusing on lowering costs for Americans, Trump, Musk, and Republicans in Congress are more concerned with cutting taxes for billionaires and corporations, paying for it by defunding Medicaid, food assistance, and other vital programs that working-class Americans rely on. Their priorities couldn’t be clearer.

  • When President Trump addresses Congress tonight, he’ll try to spin his record on the economy—but voters aren’t buying it. After inheriting a strong and growing economy, the warning signs are now flashing red. ?? 66% of voters say Trump isn't focusing enough on lowering prices ?? 63% say inflation is a “very big problem” ?? 62% say the president has “not gone far enough” in trying to reduce prices ?? 57% think the price of groceries will increase in the next six months ?? Trump’s approval rating on the economy is at 42% – his lowest ever rating on the economy as president. Trump’s response? A gimmicky “Affordability Czar” to distract from the reality that his policies are keeping prices high. "This is nothing more than a PR stunt to pretend they’re addressing high cost-of-living while pushing policies that will raise prices and gutting programs like Medicaid that support working class families, all to line the pockets of billionaires like Elon Musk,” said Alex Jacquez, Groundwork's Chief of Policy & Advocacy. https://lnkd.in/e3dxgAkx
