We are excited to announce Grounds For Sculpture has been accredited as a Level II Arboretum by the ArbNet Arboretum Accreditation Program and The Morton Arboretum! GFS is one of only 221 arboretums worldwide with this status. Qualifying #arboretums must meet a certain set of requirements deemed important for arboreta and #botanic gardens, including having at least 100 species of trees or plants and maintaining an arboretum collections policy that describes the development and professional management of the plants. Fall is a busy time for the horticulture department Grounds For Sculpture and it's always appreciated when our corporate partners are able to participate in a needed project. Thank you to Bank of America staff for their morning out in the grounds. They removed vines and trimmed shrubs to help our plants continue to grow and thrive. Thank you to Northfield Bank Foundation for supporting arts and educational access. Through renewed funding, GFS is able to provide educational programs and admission access to approximately 400 students in 7 elementary schools within the Hamilton Township School District, including toolbox resources and educator guides for the exhibitions and sculptures on the property along with professional development for staff at Grounds For Sculpture. We are delighted to have received this funding for the second time and continue this fantastic program. Have you visited ‘Cloud Swing’? Designed to engage everyone in public art and play, this interactive sculpture has three plank swings and two wheelchair-accessible swings for the public to use. Grounds For Sculpture held our second Swirl event this month. Over 200 guests enjoyed tours of five sculptures, with premium food and wine pairings curated by the chef and sommelier at Rat’s Restaurant. Fun themes, with beautiful displays and pairings made for a spectacular experience for all the senses. Big shout out to the Constellation Culinary Group whose GFS team designed the menu and curated the stations to provide a magical experience and the GFS staff and?#volunteers?who work throughout the year to plan and?hold this special event. Grounds For Sculpture has been awarded a grant from the JOHN BEN SNOW MEMORIAL TRUST to support 2024-25 academic year #afterschool programming with three community partners, the Hamilton Area YMCA, HomeWorks Trenton, and The Father Center of New Jersey. These programs developed in collaboration with the partners, explore a variety of arts-based concepts through a STEAM-based curriculum and aim to build participants’ socio-emotional well-being and leadership skills. We are excited to continue these relationships and increase students’ access to art, horticulture, and wellness opportunities. #Trenton #Hamilton #backtoschool #museums
