Cultivating equitable, inclusive communities by advancing housing solutions that last for generations.
关于我们
Grounded Solutions Network is a national nonprofit membership organization of community land trusts, municipal housing programs, and nonprofits that support housing with lasting affordability. Our mission is to cultivate communities — equitable, inclusive and rich in opportunity — by advancing affordable housing solutions that last for generations. We promote housing solutions that will stay affordable for generations so communities can stabilize and strengthen their foundation, for good. We connect national and local expertise; bringing together the networks, knowledge and support needed to build inclusive communities. Grounded Solutions Network champions evidence-based policies and strategies that work. We help our members, partners and elected officials use them to establish inclusive communities that have diverse housing options for a variety of incomes, offering choice and opportunity for all residents – both today and for future generations.

?? In late 2024, our Homes for the Future (HFTF)?initiative and five other nonprofit organizations jointly acquired a portfolio of 283 single-family rental homes in the Minneapolis-St. Paul region. Now HFTF is leading efforts to transition these homes into the portfolios of local shared equity housing organizations, ensuring that they remain affordable for generations to come. ?? HFTF will build on the momentum of this initial investment in Minneapolis-Saint Paul and launch in Atlanta by year’s end, preserving affordability for 75 single-family homes there. Our Local Policy Principal, Colby Sledge, recently spoke with The Daily Herald about proposed strategies for addressing the housing supply mismatch in DuPage County, IL. “…There are lots of folks who are on either end of the spectrum, where they're paying a lot of their income toward housing needs, or they're paying very little of their income toward their housing needs,” Sledge said. One strategy for expanding housing opportunity is a land bank, which Sledge explained would enable the county to turn what are liabilities — vacant land or land that's not being really used — into the potential for housing for residents at a more affordable rate. ??? Check out this TREC Community Investors podcast episode during which our very own Jason Webb provides a deep dive into how community land trusts operate and ensure lasting affordability. ??
On the latest episode of TREC’s podcast, we sat down with Jason Webb of Grounded Solutions Network to talk all things CLTs! What’s a CLT you say? CLT stands for ‘community land trust,’ and it’s one of the strategies cities utilize to maintain long-term affordability in their housing stock. For the last few years, we’ve been developing a CLT here in Dallas, and Grounded Solutions Network has been integral to that effort. Jason gives listeners a breakdown of how CLTs operate – how they acquire land, how homes are sold, how buyers qualify, and (most importantly) how the housing stock remains affordable!
