    "Followers is a vanity metric." It definitely can be, but you never know who is going to see what you post. One of the folks in the graphic below got a brand deal with Allstate that started with a video we created together. Another with Wilson. Another got enough pre-order interest to feel comfortable starting their own business. Expanding their reach makes all those opportunities more likely to happen.     My sports marketing business doesn't make $1 billion a year. We don't even make $1 million a year. So should we call it a day? Pivot? I ask myself that a lot, honestly. So, here are the 3 reasons why I believe Grit is going to be successful if we keep pushing. Reason 1:? Student-Athletes' Engagement Rate vs. Other Influencers - 2X more on IG - 5X more on TikTok - 12X more on Twitter Reason 2: Moving people impacts the bottom line These engagement rates aren't fluff to fill out a deck. I've seen athletes' high engagement rates turn into... - 1,000+ app downloads - $100,000+ worth of event tickets purchased - Full-time jobs at big media networks Reason 3: Athletes' stories are hard to tell. Sports fans are p?r?o?u?d?l?y? ?p?s?y?c?h?o?t?i?c?,? ?d?e?l?u?s?i?o?n?a?l?,? ?a?n?d? ?e?r?r?a?t?i?c? passionate. Details matter: the lines can be thin between trending and overdone, vintage and out of touch, authentic and corny. Everyone at Grit is also i???r???r???a???t???i???o???n???a???l???l?y? ?o?b?s?e?s?s?e?d? ?w?i?t?h? ???m???o???c???k??? ???d???r???a???f???t???s??? a sports fan. We know the lines. Our work is published and reviewed by other fans multiple times a day. We obsess over telling stories well. And because telling them well with athletes moves the bottom line more effectively than the average influencer campaign, I like our odds of hitting $1 million ARR someday.
