We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Luke Walker to Executive Vice President. Luke began his journey with Griffith Company 23 years ago, and continued to demonstrate exceptional dedication, strong leadership, and expertise throughout his career. His contributions have been instrumental in driving our company’s growth and success. In his new role as Executive Vice President, Luke will now oversee all Regions and Divisions of Griffith Company. His responsibilities include spearheading strategic initiatives, fostering collaboration, challenging and leading our talented teams toward achieving new milestones. His intimate knowledge of the company’s culture and his steadfast commitment to The Griffith Way make him exceptionally suited for this position. The promotion to Executive Vice President is a testament to Luke’s hard work, dedication, and pivotal role in shaping the company’s future. About Luke Walker Luke Walker began his career with Griffith Company as a college intern in the summer of 2001. After graduating from UCLA with a degree in Applied Mathematics, Luke joined Griffith full-time as an Estimator and Project Manager. Over the span of his career, Luke has had the opportunity to work with multiple public agencies and private developers across Southern and Central California, gaining valuable experience. After a pivotal three-year stint as Manager of our Central Region in Bakersfield, Luke’s success led to his promotion to Vice President and managed our flagship Southern Region for the past nine years. With his leadership, this region continued to flourish, becoming Griffith’s largest and one of the most profitable business units. In his twenty-three-year career at Griffith Company, Luke has been a part of the company’s largest projects, in both public and private markets, including several of the region’s largest public clients, such as the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, Los Angeles World Airports, LA Metro, and Caltrans. He was instrumental in Griffith Company’s return into the San Diego area where we are growing into new markets, anchored by a project at the San Diego International Airport. Following Griffith’s long-standing tradition of involvement in the construction industry, Luke has participated in AGC of America since 2008, serving on the CLC Steering Committee from 2015-2017 and on the AGC Board of Directors in 2018. In addition, he has served as the Management Co-Chair for the Laborer’s Joint Apprenticeship Subcommittee and on the Operating Engineers Joint Apprenticeship Subcommittee. Griffith Company, a heavy civil contractor based in Southern California, announced that Ryan Aukerman has been selected by the Board of Directors as the company’s new President, effective July 1, 2024. “Griffith Company has experienced several successful years under Ryan’s leadership in operations, and I am very proud to promote Ryan to the President’s seat of Griffith Company”, said Jaimie Angus. “The President role for Griffith Company is a significant milestone in Ryan’s career and speaks to his hard work and dedication to the company.” On his appointment, Mr. Aukerman commented, “Griffith Company truly has the most amazing men and women at all levels of our business, and I am honored and grateful for this opportunity. This company has been my family for the last 20 years and I am excited to lead the organization through new challenges and drive us to new opportunities in the next chapter of our evolution.” Ryan will succeed Jaimie Angus, who has transitioned to CEO and Chairman of the Board. Jaimie held the role for Griffith Company from 2015 to 2024 and will continue to work closely with the executive management team throughout this transition. About Ryan Aukerman Mr. Aukerman joined Griffith Company in 2004 as a Project Engineer and quickly advanced to the role of Estimator/Project Manager in 2006. In 2011, he was promoted to Regional Manager and oversaw the company’s largest business unit, the Southern Region. In 2013, Ryan was appointed to Vice President and most recently served as Executive Vice President overseeing the day-to-day operations for the company, a role he has held since 2015. Over his 20+ years with the company, Ryan has worked closely with a multitude of public and private owners and participated in alternative project delivery methods such as Design-Build, CMGC, and Progressive Design-Build. Ryan has always demonstrated enthusiasm and an eagerness to continue to push the company to new levels. Ryan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Technology and Operations Management from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He has served on the AGC of California's Los Angeles Regional Board and is currently serving as a State Director for AGC of California. As of January 2024, he was appointed to a position with the Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust Southwest as a management trustee and has been a member of the Caltrans Partnering Steering Committee since 2016. With an understanding that there needs to be a solid investment in the future workforce within the industry, Ryan works to support the AGC Construction Education Foundation, particularly its Build California program and the multiple AGC student chapters that he interacts with.
