    In 2016, a gift from Griffin Catalyst Founder Ken Griffin to Boston Children's Hospital helped accelerate the early clinical use of mitochondrial transplantation to meaningfully improve the heart function of critically ill infants. Since then, the therapeutic use of mitochondrial transplantation has been extended through research around the globe, expanding its potential impact on the lives of countless patients suffering from a range of illnesses.     Over the past 30 years, nearly half of the world's coral reefs have disappeared, with severe consequences for coastal health and biodiversity. To address this challenge, the venture studio Good Machine has created Reefgen to help restore marine ecosystems that are critical to coastal communities. The result? A remotely operated underwater robot that works 100 times faster and for longer periods of time than human divers.
