It was my pleasure to join Teresa Alvarado to kick off the Pacific Gas and Electric Company Innovation Summit presented by DISTRIBUTECH! As North America’s largest transmission and distribution utility event, DTECH has spent the past few months supporting PG&E’s development of this critical event focused on #AI, technology, and decarbonization. I’ll repeat a message I shared on stage: while it’s fun to talk about the latest grid tech, we must also be grounded by the human impact of these investments. Just six weeks after Hurricane Helene devastated Asheville, I’m focused on how these investments lead to fewer outage minutes, cleaner air, and cheaper electricity, which will materially improve lives. A big thank you to Quinn Nakayama, Patti Poppe, Paul Doherty, Jason Glickman, and the entire PG&E team for allowing us to participate.
