The DOE spent considerable time with Grid Assurance to more fully understand our operations and value proposition for the electric utility industry. 2024 has been a busy & productive year thus far. We added a new subscriber, bringing our total base to 32 transmission-owned affiliates with operations across 23 states. We hosted our annual Equipment Committee meeting to ensure subscriber preparedness and promote operational transparency. Restoration planning remains our top priority, especially as the number of extreme weather events continues to increase across the country. NOAA reported that the Midwest alone experienced more than 20 tornadoes in the first two weeks of March, an unusual number fueled by record warmth in February & early March.

It has been a busy & exciting year for Grid Assurance, & we are pleased to share a few updates with you. We are continuing to develop new programs & expand our offerings, including EHV transmission line structures, Generator Step-Up transformers (GSUs), and EHV bushings. We made two successful transitions from retirees to new team members, Justin C. Nichols, Director, Logistics, & Zach Newell, PE, Director, Asset Strategy. They have hit the ground running & have been terrific additions to the team. The operations & maintenance of our valuable inventory is ongoing within our secured facilities. All the units are maintained in like-new condition with transferrable OEM warranties to our subscribers. Our team & the vendors who maintain these critical long lead-time assets work hard to ensure they are ready for rapid deployment when a catastrophic event strikes. We look forward to the coming year & working with many of you to improve the resilience & restoration of the nation’s bulk electric system.? Best wishes for the holidays & a prosperous New Year!
