??New blog post! ?? Recently I saw some posts from engineers that were offered founding engineer roles at Cursor and Midjourney but declined them. Being a founding engineer is a double-edge sword. Your equity could be worth millions but could also be worth nothing. Additionally, big tech stocks have done exceptionally well, making equity compensation over the last decade at FAANG far more lucrative than it may have seemed at the time.
