  • Greenwood Mayor Brandon Smith joins District 6 Councilman Robbie Templeton for this week’s Friday Update from Grace Street Park, where Phase 2 construction is officially underway. This next phase of development will expand recreational opportunities for residents and visitors, making the park an even more vibrant space for our community. Phase 2 will include a pump track designed for bikes and skateboards, two pickleball courts, a new shelter with restrooms, a volleyball court, and additional playgrounds. A new trail will also be constructed to connect the lower and upper portions of the park, creating more opportunities for outdoor activity. This incredible addition is made possible by YOUR support of the 2016 Capital Project Sales Tax! Stay tuned for more updates as progress continues.

  • The sunrise was stunning over Lake Greenwood this morning. Lake Inspector Win Ott captured this breathtaking view from Harris Landing Restaurant. You know the old saying: "Red sky in the morning, sailor take warning." ??? Be sure to keep an eye on the forecast, as storms are expected over the weekend. Stay safe and enjoy the beauty of Lake Greenwood.

  • Rain or shine, it’s Meet a Team Member Monday. Join us in welcoming Kevin Ely to Greenwood County. Now in his third week as Code Enforcement Officer, Kevin is passionate about working with the community to keep Greenwood County clean and beautiful. Kevin was drawn to Greenwood County because of its strong sense of community and commitment to its residents. He’s excited to be part of a team that takes pride in making a difference. His goal is to engage with residents and encourage everyone to take an active role in keeping Greenwood County looking its best. Originally from Oregon, Kevin dedicated 25 years to law enforcement, serving as a City Police Officer, County Deputy, and State Trooper before retiring from the Oregon State Police. Now, he’s proud to continue serving a community alongside his son, who works with Greenwood County EMS. Outside of work, Kevin enjoys vacationing, spending time with his family and grandkids, kayaking, woodworking, and attending football and baseball games. He’s grateful to be part of a community where people are welcoming, kind, and engaged. We’re thrilled to have Kevin on board and appreciate his dedication to our community. ?? To report a code violation or concern, contact Kevin Ely at (864) 942-8569 or [email protected].
