As #WasteandRecyclingWorkersWeek comes to an end, we thank Victor Garibay for 26 years of service as Foreman at our GreenWaste Zanker Resource Recovery Facility. We asked Victor what his favorite and most memorable part about working at GreenWaste is: “Me gusta lo que estamos haciendo, reutilizar cosas que la gente no quiere o no usa como metal, concreto, y madera… Desde el principio, cuando recién comencé a trabajar como obrero, siempre miraba a las personas que operaban las máquinas y pensaba que algún día yo también podría operar una máquina como ellas. No se me hacia facil, pero aprendi manajarlas… Fue cuando me hicieron lead.” English translation: “I like what we are doing by reusing material that people don’t want or need like metal, concrete, and wood… From the beginning, when I just started working, I always looked at people who operated the machines and thought that one day I too could operate a machine like them.
