Hitting it out of the park for two decades! We're celebrating the transformational impact of the GREENVILLE DRIVE, LLC. The Red Sox affiliate broke ground on a stadium in #GreenvilleSC's West End in 2005. They will welcome their 6 millionth fan this season. The Drive report 700+ new business licenses and more than $300 million in new business sales within a half mile of Fluor Field since opening day in 2006. The Fenway Park replica was named Ballpark of the Year and the team has lead the South Atlantic League in attendance for the past 5 years. It's about so much more than baseball, The Drive ownership is a charitable champion, donating more than $100,000 in merchandise and tickets each season. Planning for #GreenvilleSC's future from an accessible location on Main Street, making it even easier to get new development moving. The City's Planning and Development Department will occupy the ground floor of the former Wachovia building later this year, after City Council authorized the City Manager to sign a long-term lease. The street level Design Center will be open to developers and property owners who have questions about projects, Putting a Design Center on Main was important to GCEDC Board President Mayor Knox White. “This really gets to the heart of what makes downtown Greenville so special. It’s our attention to good planning. It’s our attention to urban design. The public can come here. Anybody can come here and learn about the future downtown,” White said.

Raising a glass to growth in #GreenvilleSC! GCEDC President and CEO Sam Konduros talked strategy at Business & Brews. "It's about building our own companies, building our own headquarters, not just cheerleading startups and early-stage companies, but attracting capital," Konduros said. "I think we've got all the ingredients."

Congratulations to #GreenvilleSC entrepreneur Dr. Lindsey Calcutt, PhD, co-founder and CEO of Incora Health. SCbio honored Calcutt with its 2025 SC Life Sciences Pinnacle Rising Star Award. The award recognizes innovators and leaders under 40 who are shaping the future of life sciences. Calcutt accepted the honor during SCBio’s annual conference in Charleston. "I've not found anywhere better," says Adam Stroud, CEO of Paxton Access US. "If you are hiring staff and you care about their well-being, in and out of work, then Greenville has got a brilliant balance. It's very obvious, within weeks of being here, that Greenville wants you as a business." Paxton opened its first office in #GreenvilleSC in 2013. This year, the UK based security firm chose us for their North American headquarters.

Former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley was the honored guest at the Upstate SC Alliance annual meeting. Haley, whose tenure as governor was marked by significant foreign direct investment (FDI), reflected on the critical role its played in South Carolina’s growth. Today, more than 579 international companies from 36 countries have a presence in the region, contributing to job creation and economic stability. “There’s never pushback if you have South Carolinians working those jobs,” Haley said. “There’s never pushback if you have South Carolina small businesses serving them. There’s never pushback if those companies are engrained in the community and they give back to schools and they give back to apprenticeships and they participate in our universities.” While companies like Michelin, BMW, ZF Transmissions and have been economic engines of the Upstate for years, Haley recalled a time during her governorship when foreign-owned investments were met with skepticism. That perception shifted, she said, as South Carolinians filled jobs with foreign owned companies and local businesses reaped the benefits.

Our regional partners at Upstate SC Alliance are celebrating 25 years of economic growth and #GreenvilleSC's transformation into a global business hub. Nearly 800 economic development professionals and business leaders gathered at the Greenville Convention Center for "Painting our Regional Picture Together." The luncheon highlighted the 2024 economic success of the 10-county region in South Carolina’s northwest corner. As part of its annual report, Upstate Alliance announced 69 projects totaling $2.6 billion in capital investment and the creation of 4100 new jobs. https://lnkd.in/e3GN-CBc
