To strengthen partnerships and broaden support in an effort to increase options for people experiencing homelessness.
关于我们
The Greenville Homeless Alliance (GHA) is a collaboration of individuals and organizations seeking or creating solutions for an individual or family that lacks a fixed, regular, or adequate nighttime residence. Partners engaged in the GHA aim to maximize community assets and pool resources, and we invite everyone in our community to become fiercely committed to ending homelessness and participate in creating a systemic and empathetic community wide response to do so. Vision: Safe, affordable homes for everyone in Greenville County Mission: To strengthen the partnerships and broaden support in order to increase options for individuals or families who are experiencing homelessness and who are seeking stability and a safe, affordable home. Goals: Ignite change to end homelessness by convening partners to: 1. Reduce the duration of homelessness for individuals and families by increasing affordable housing options. 2. Prevent homelessness by expanding effective support services available to families at risk of experiencing homelessness.

Today we lift up the life and ministry of Senior Pastor, Justin Gilreath, who passed away last weekend. As a partner with Buncombe Street Methodist Church (Greenville, SC), we deeply grieve his loss. Justin spoke at our 2023 iGNITE Luncheon and today we encourage everyone to join us in loving your neighbor deeply as Justin loved church member, Robert Shell. Justin said, "Robert is kind and caring, he always has a smile on his face. Robert is a contagious spirit and is a blessing." Hear Justin's words at the 45 minute mark https://lnkd.in/ggXxFnz8. Be a blessing and a contagious spirit in this world as Robert is https://lnkd.in/gtDQFUqY. We trust that as our partner Westminster Presbyterian Church shared “in life and death we belong to God,” and we extend our sincerest condolences Justin’s wife, Jenny, their daughters, Meakin and Griffin, the entire Gilreath family, staff plus members of Buncombe Street Methodist Church. “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39) #gvlhomes4all #ConnectedCommunity #endhomelessness #extendlove #greenvillesc #hhweekgvl #hhweek

All residents of Greenville and Laurens County are invited to the monthly Upstate Continuum of Care meeting at the Miracle Hill Ministries Greenville Rescue Mission. This is an opportunity to meet people working each day to prevent and end homelessness. You'll also see where men can access cold weather beds as you enter from Hudson Street. See a photo of a recent night for cold weather beds from Dan Weathers who creates warm meals for all men seeking shelter and safety. Did you know no one is turned away from these low barrier beds? Please do note that boys over age ten cannot stay with their mother at the women's shelter, Shepherd's Gate. Thank you to Miracle Hill Ministries, Inc. for hosting the Upstate Continuum of Care Meeting for the Greenville/Laurens County Chapter. Did you know United Housing Connections is the lead nonprofit for the 13 counties who comprise the Upstate Continuum of Care? Their support of 80+ nonprofits from Edgefield to Cherokee to Oconee County is one reason we were created to focus on Greenville County. Homelessness is a bigger problem than any one agency or government entity can solve. Join us to learn more. #gvlhomes4all #hhweek #hhweekgvl #greenvillesc

On this Veteran's Day we thank all who have served. Learn more about PTSD, homelessness, and collaboration from Upstate Warrior Solution + Heidi. How does it feel to be recognized? “I was afraid to reach out or let anyone know that I was experiencing homelessness for fear of losing my kids,” explains Heidi. “A United States Marine Corps veteran friend dropped me off one day on the steps of Upstate Warrior Solution (UWS). Neither of us knew anything about the organization, but had heard they help veterans.” Due to the fear of being separated from her kids in the back of her mind....read the short story https://lnkd.in/e4cEeAbc. Thank you to Bank of America for the opportunity to attend the 2024 Community Needs Assessment. We were thrilled to be at Triune where the SEEN | HEARD | VALUED mural https://lnkd.in/gPz4bzV2 welcomed Bank of America teammates and nonprofits from across the Upstate. The inspirational speakers and conversations at tables are critical in how we collectively approach the most challenging issues facing our community. Homelessness, access to mental health services and affordable housing were the top priorities in 2023. We look forward to seeing the results from today. Thank you Stacy Brandon for your leadership and dedication to people in the Upstate. We shared the brand new website https://lnkd.in/gxZx_2qt developed by stakeholders convened by the Greenville Homeless Alliance addressing #evictions.
