GreenVest is honored to have one of our projects mentioned by Secretary of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Josh Kurtz. The Middle Branch Resiliency Initiative (MBRI) had its groundbreaking of its lead project, the Hanover Street Wetland Site, on April 19. This project is Maryland’s largest coastal resiliency program, seeking to improve shoreline resiliency, habitat diversity, and water quality along ±11 miles of shoreline of the Patapsco River in Baltimore. This event celebrated the start of the first of many of the MBRI’s nature-based resilience projects. Read more here: https://bit.ly/3zGQXic GreenVest Blog: https://bit.ly/4aat0w9

GreenVest is an established leader in the ecosystem services industry, developing resilient, nature-based solutions.
关于我们
GreenVest, LLC (GV) is a certified small business and an established leader in the ecosystem services industry with over 27 years of experience in developing resilient, nature-based solutions throughout the Mid-Atlantic. The cornerstone of our business has always been the delivery of fixed-price mitigation and addressing regulatory requirements for our clients. One of keys to effective ecosystem restoration is obtaining the best land for a project, and GV is unmatched in this arena. Our unique land-based approach carries 100% of the financial and performance-based risk to successfully deliver mitigation—allowing our clients, both public and private, to focus on their core business with certainty of cost and schedule. Our clients appreciate the fact that, as developers, we uniquely understand the importance of cash flow and timelines, technical and regulatory hurdles, programmatic directives, and political mandates. As an innovative and effective P3 (Public Private Partnerships) solution provider, GV uses private sector capital to acquire, restore, and preserve land containing impaired ecological systems. GV routinely aggregates funds, including grants, to help offset project costs. We help our clients leverage financial resources by creating effective partnerships and generating revenue. Our proud record of success includes 10 mitigation banks (approved or pending) and more than 65 full-delivery resilient restoration/mitigation projects pending, approved, or in the ground. GV has led or assisted in the acquisition of over 48,000 acres of land rights, and the preservation and restoration of over 50 miles of stream channels. Our work has prevented millions of pounds of sediment and associated nutrients from reaching sensitive aquatic systems from the Barnegat Bay to the Chesapeake Bay, resulting in significant water quality, habitat quality, and quality of life improvements.

This event marked construction of a project that will address persistent flooding in this riverside community, foster an investment of resources and environmental justice to boost resilience in a town with rich history, and improve water quality entering the Chesapeake Bay. Team GV enjoyed viewing Monday’s solar eclipse from our Bowie office balcony. While GreenVest’s scientific focus is terrestrial, this celestial event was a reminder of the many facets of nature’s beauty – we are proud of our team’s passion for the environment and their work to increase its resilience.
