QCells' is setting up the largest manufacturing facility for silicon ingots and wafers right here in the U.S., along with a massive $1.45 billion solar plant in Georgia. -- in no small thanks to rising tariffs from panels manufactured in China. This is a huge milestone for the US solar industry. It highlights just how important domestic solar manufacturing has become, especially as we work to reduce our dependence on foreign supply chains that can be shaky at times. Is this the US securing a leading role in the global solar market? Read more in the link below. https://bit.ly/3yHWODw

“Every sunny roof without solar panels is a missed opportunity,”?said?Johanna Neumann, Senior Director of the Campaign for 100% Renewable Energy at Environment America Research & Policy Center.? ??More than half of U.S. solar installations came online since the start of 2020. ??More than 25 percent have come online since the Inflation Reduction Act became law just 20 months ago, according to SEIA. ??Residential solar systems make up 97 percent of solar installations in the United States. ??This milestone comes just eight years after the U.S. reached one million installations in 2016. It took 40 years to get to 1 million installations after the first grid-connected solar installation came online in 1973. What's next? Another projected 5 million installations by 2030. (SEIA) How can we get your solar transition online in 2024? Contact Greentech United for end to end renewable energy solutions. #Greentech #United #Energy #transition #solar

U.S. energy production overshadowed consumption by 9 quadrillion British thermal units (quads) in 2023, according to an analysis released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Wednesday that showed the widest margin in records dating back to 1949. On the flip side, U.S. energy consumption declined slightly in 2023. Renewable energy production rose 1% compared to the previous year, touching eight quads of energy and reflecting a 28% increase since 2013. Solar energy production grew 15% last year, while wind production fell 2%. Paris 2024 is setting a new standard for sustainability in the Olympics!? They've pledged to cut their carbon footprint in half compared to previous Games.? This is a big step forward, and they're achieving it through some innovative methods: * The Aquatic Centre With a 5,000 sqm roof covered with photovoltaic panels, it will be one of France’s largest urban solar farms and supply all the energy that the centre needs. * Athletes’ Village Shaded Solar Structure The Athletes' Village bus station's 800sqm solar roof will shade athletes while generating 25% of the Team Processing Centre's electricity. ?The shading structure will produce 110kWc. * Floating solar farm on the River Seine The Seine gets a mobile solar farm generating enough clean power for 94 apartments in the nearby Olympic Village! It will be able to produce 78kWc of electricity using its 400m2 of photovoltaic surface area.? * EV charging stations 800 charging stations from Izivia (EDF) to power official delegations across 3 sites, reducing the Games' carbon footprint. These are just some of the ways that Paris 2024 is making the Olympics more sustainable.? Their commitment goes beyond just the Games themselves - they also want to leave a positive legacy for the host community. What do you think about these sustainability efforts?? Are you excited to see a greener Olympics in Paris? #Paris2024 #Sustainability #Olympics

To help assess the potential for rooftop solar to serve in this emerging role, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory has released a new study “Modeling the potential effects of rooftop solar on household energy burden in the United States” that evaluates how solar has historically performed in reducing household energy burden. This study, published as an open-access article in the journal Nature Communications, combines empirical and modeled data for roughly 500,000 residential solar adopters across the U.S. and evaluates energy burden impacts across ownership structure, income group, year of solar adoption, region, and heating fuel types. Taking off-bill costs and benefits into account, rooftop solar reduced energy burden for 76% of households. The median customer saw bill savings of $1,987 annually, but total net savings of $691 annually when considering off-bill financial impacts.
