???? I call bullshit on the whole #aiagent cult... Every example of an #ai agent I've seen so far is simply a traditional automation system that uses #generativeai at some point in the proceedings. 1?? Either it's used to manage workflow logic 2?? Or it's used in a chain to sequentially build towards an output But they all follow a pre-determined path with pre-determined goals and, for many, pre-determined instructions about how to achieve those goals. It seems like we're just rebranding anything that uses probabilistic technology as an AI agent? Does probability equate to agency, then? If anyone knows about agents, it's Ronald Ashri, who has a PHD in multi-agent systems. In this conversation, we dissect the definitions of agents offered by those leading the charge in generative AI technologies and arrive at a proper abstraction of how to think about 'agents' in your automation programmes. ??♂? Does it matter what you call it as long as it's useful? ?? What are the qualities of a well designed AI system? ?? What can we learn from the true definition of AI agents to help us create worthwhile abstractions that'll enable us to design better experiences? This is what really matters.
