We are thrilled to announce that SAW Greenland (a Joint Venture) has been awarded a $36 million federal contract for the construction of a new 13,700-square-foot boiler plant at the VA Medical Center in Temple, Texas! ??? This multi-year project will replace the existing boiler plant and integrate it into the steam distribution system that serves the entire medical campus - enhancing reliability and efficiency for the veterans and medical professionals who depend on it every day. ? This win is especially meaningful as Temple is located near the Waco VA Medical Center, where our team successfully delivered two district energy projects over a decade ago. It’s a full-circle moment that reinforces our long-standing commitment to improving critical VA healthcare infrastructure. ? Exciting progress on our Replace Downtown Boiler Systems project in Augusta, GA!??? Our Cleaver-Brooks firetube boilers have officially arrived on-site and are now rigged into place on their concrete housekeeping pads. This complex operation was a true team effort, with seamless coordination between our Joint Venture team, our Trade Partner, Mann Mechanical, and the expert rigging crew at RIGUPATL. The boilers were offloaded using industrial-sized forklifts equipped with jib-crane attachments and a counter-balance weight system, then carefully set onto equipment skates. From there, a remote-controlled hydraulic skate guided them into their final position inside the boiler plant. Next up: installing the boiler stack system!??? The Joint Venture recently achieved another major milestone on our boiler plant project at Hill Air Force Base in UT. The eight existing boilers have been removed from Building 260 and the team can now press forward with the concrete demo. These boilers will soon be replaced with five new 48,000 PPH 9 ppm NOx boilers. To accomplish this effort, the existing plant's south doors were demolished and the entryway was expanded to provide enough clearance for the removal. Over the course of several days, each boiler was then shrink-wrapped, placed on hydraulic skates, moved outside, and loaded onto a flatbed via crane rigging. Our Joint Venture team has successfully removed the underground fuel storage tanks on the?Replace Boilers in Building 10?project at the VA Medical Center in Providence, RI. The effort involved careful excavation, detaching tie-down straps, and using rigging/lifting lugs to remove a 2,500-gallon diesel tank and a 20,000-gallon #2 fuel oil tank. This key milestone allows us to move forward with the next phase of the project, which includes a 500 SF addition to house a new transformer. Great work by the team in reaching this critical point!
