We are looking for board members and committee members! Our goal this year is to add 3 new board members. We are looking for community ambassadors who will connect Greener Partners with community organizations and businesses. We are also looking for people with backgrounds in human resources, marketing, business development, or legal. We are happy to discuss possibilities! Not sure if you are ready to join the board? Consider committee service! Committees are a good way to try out board service in a smaller way. The following committees are looking for members: governance, development, and finance. Please reach out to Executive Director, Whitney Lingle ([email protected]) with questions and for further information.

Strengthen community health through urban farming, equitable fresh food access, and discovery-based learning.
关于我们
Greener Partners’ mission is to strengthen community health through urban farming, equitable fresh food access, and discovery-based learning. We believe that all people should be able to access nourishing food in the communities in which they live. We partner with schools, hospitals, and community organizations to develop underutilized land into productive urban gardens that provide fresh food for communities experiencing food insecurity. We address barriers to healthy eating through hands-on gardening, cooking, and nutrition education programs, and through no-cost fruit and vegetable distributions. Our seed-to-plate lessons are based on research that shows when garden education is combined with food education, people eat more fruits and vegetables. Additionally, studies show that fresh food access is more effective when combined with food education. The school, hospital, and community gardens in the Philadelphia region that we support help thousands of youth and families to make deep connections to the land and one another. Greener Partners aims to equip people with skills to establish sustainable sources of healthy food in their communities through urban gardening. This approach connects youth to the land, regenerative practices, advocacy for land use, and the power of growing their own food. Our goal is to connect youth to neighborhood green spaces and empower them as agents of change in their communities.

How have we grown? Over the past five years, there have been a lot of changes and also growth at Greener Partners. Our numbers ebbed and flowed with the impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic, and we are excited to see our work continue to grow in recent years. We remain committed to strengthening community health through urban farming, equitable fresh food access, and discovery-based learning!

At Greener Partners, we are a team of farmers and educators who have a deep connection to food and who facilitate transformative food experiences with others. Our role is to demonstrate, invite direct experiences, inspire, and facilitate learning environments.?We loved it when a community member was able to see, touch, and learn about collard green flowers for the first time!

We are so grateful to each and every person that help us connect people with fresh fruits and vegetables every year since our founding in 2008. It takes a community of partners, donors, and community advocates to achieve our mission! We do it for kids like Aubrey. Hear what his favorite part about Greener Partners' program is in the video! Join us in helping kids make healthy food choices for life! Give here: https://lnkd.in/e4wNCiJM

Such a wonderful day with wonderful people! In just a couple hours, Overbrook Elementary had a beautiful new garden thanks to the help of Noel A. and volunteers from Wells Fargo. Greener Partners can't wait to build more school gardens in 2025!
Had a great time with the Wells Fargo team and Greener Partners at Overbrook Elementary in West Philadelphia. We turned a yard overgrown with weed into a garden that will provide vegetables for the students for educational purposes. Environmental sustainability is one of the areas Wells Fargo supports in the community. Greener Partners: “Our experienced farmer-educators work closely with our longtime partners to establish, revitalize, and/or support schools and community gardens in West Philadelphia, Chester and Norristown.” Thanks to Jeannette Fournier, Stephen Briggs, Paralee Knight and Todd Hacker for putting this together! #WellsFargo #EmployeeImpactTeam

Greener Partners works and serves you year-round! While most of our gardens are seasonal, our programs do not stop during the cold of winter. We continue to engage and excite our students and participants around food and nutritious eating. Our programs take place indoors, which means we have more time to practice our cooking skills and try delicious, nutritious recipes. What do you like to do during the winter?

Greener Partners' Fall Fete raised over $100,000 to support food education across Greater Philadelphia. 1 in 10 youth aren't able to eat the servings of vegetables and fruit needed to thrive, which often leads to long-term health consequences. This year, thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, donors, and supporters, GP will deliver food education to over 1,000 youth. Thank you to all of our amazing sponsors!
