Green Dot parent and student leaders, working through United Parents and Students (UPAS), joined several LA City Councilmembers at a press conference pushing for a restoration of funding for BIG:LEAP, the City's Guaranteed Income (GBI) program. During its one-year pilot, the program served 3,200 households with $1,000 per month in cash assistance. In addition to its financial benefits, the program also has immense social benefits in terms of family stability, nutrition, and reductions in domestic violence. #GreenDot #UPAS
