#FAQFriday - How much longer will a tree live in the RootSpace ArborSystem vs. in a typical urban planting application? The RootSpace ArborSystem replicates a forest's natural environment, enabling trees planted in RootSpace to potentially thrive as long as a tree in a forest setting when: ????????The amount of RootSpace used provides sufficient soil volume for the specific tree species ????????Planting follows recommended best practices ????????Proper post-planting maintenance is implemented GreenBlue Urban has thriving tree installations dating back to our first soil cell project in 2001. In contrast, traditionally planted street trees typically survive less than 10 years. The right approach makes all the difference. Curious about the long-term value? We’re so excited to see the future home of Tennessee Smokies baseball taking shape! On course to completion in early 2025, the stadium will also host One Knox soccer, concerts, festivals and other events. ????? Our support team was on site this week overseeing the installation of RootSpace at 54 trees around the stadium. ?? Soon to enhance the street appeal and provide shade for visitors, we're confident these trees will grow quickly in our soil cell system! #TreePitInstall #RootSpace #OnSiteSupport

Beautiful pavers, widened sidewalks, benches, and…dead trees? Landscape architects carefully weigh over plant selection, matching street furniture, and focus on the overall aesthetic of their projects. And while the visible elements are important, success often hinges on laying the proper groundwork, especially for urban tree planting. ?????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????, ???????? ?????? ???????? ???????????????????? ?????????????? ?????? ???? ???????????? ???? ?????????????????? ??????????. #FAQFriday: ???????? ???????? ?????????????????? ??????????? Part 4: ????♂? Hassle-Free Installation With less components, RootSpace installations are easier, faster and produce less waste than other soil cell installations. ?????? ??????????: ???????Fewer components than competitive soil cells. ???????Many contractors say it’s like connecting big Lego blocks together and filling them with soil. ???????It takes approximately 15 minutes per cubic yard (with two deskilled laborers) to install and that includes excavation, labor, and soil filling. ???????Free on-site installation support. ???????? ???????? ?????????? ?????? ???????? ???????? ???????? ????????????????????????: ? Only Half of Urban Trees Survive to Age 10 – but it doesn’t have to be that way. ?? As green spaces become more precious, it's critical that we invest in the long-term health and longevity of urban trees. Not only because mature trees deliver immense value in cleaner air, reduced energy costs, and enhanced mental wellbeing for all, but also because there are significant economic and environmental costs associated with repeatedly replanting dead or struggling trees. By investing upfront in soil cells, deep irrigation systems and protective grates and guards, we can change this statistic drastically! #FAQFriday: ???????? ???????? ?????????????????? ???????????? Part 3: ?? Rock-Solid Stability ?????? ??????????: ??The interlocking system stays stable during soil filling and prevents shifting from vehicle traffic after installation. ??Proven performance in extreme temperature cycles: Other soil cells have cylindrical legs that allow water to collect, causing breakage and system failures in freeze/thaw conditions. RootSpace’s open lattice structure prevents water from collecting in any system component. ?????? ???? ??????????????: ? Eliminates concerns about infrastructure failure, reducing liability risks. ? Soil filling during installation is more efficient. ? Can be used adjacent to roadways, expanding your design options in narrow spaces. There’s a debate over whether the University of Texas or the University of Tennessee is the real “UT”. Well, we might be biased, having a location roughly four miles from the University of Tennessee… but in the end what we really care about is that both have thriving urban trees supported by RootSpace soil cells. And since we recently featured a RootSpace project at the University of Texas, we thought we should give a highlight to these beauties in our hometown! Mature trees at colleges can improve students' well-being, boost academic performance, and help to cool and clean the air. Thanks to RootSpace, these trees will contribute those benefits for many generations of students. ???? #UniversityOfTennessee #UrbanForestry #UrbanGreening

Who Will Maintain Green Infrastructure, and at What Cost? ?? Planning green infrastructure in urban areas raises questions about maintenance responsibilities and costs. While urban greenery offers benefits like pollution reduction and biodiversity support, those enjoying these perks aren't always responsible for upkeep, creating challenges in green infrastructure's valuation and care. Our latest blog explores the costs, required efforts, and the role of low impact development, along with other innovative solutions. With smart planning and investment, we can create vibrant, low-maintenance green spaces for sustainable urban living. Read the Blog: https://lnkd.in/eC3WE8jH #GreenInfrastructure?#Blog

#FAQFriday: What sets RootSpace apart? Today we dive into part 2: Highest Soil Volume per Square Foot ?? ?????? ??????????: RootSpace delivers an industry-leading 97% usable soil volume – that's the space actually available for root growth, excluding structural components. For perspective, some competing soil cells offer only 85% usable volume due to their large structural columns. And structural soil only provides 20% usable volume. ?????? ???????? ??????????????: ??More value for your investment – you're paying for soil space, not structure. ??Fewer modules needed to achieve the same soil volume = lower materials costs. ????♂?Smaller excavation footprint = reduced excavation costs. ???????????? ????????: RootSpace's efficient design means more soil in less space, reducing project costs while maximizing tree health potential.
