Heads up! CalRecycle published their revised regulatory text for the California Extended Producer Responsibility (#EPR) Law, SB54 yesterday. Stakeholders have until October 29th to submit public comments for consideration by CalRecycle. One notable change under Article 5: Requirements for Producers: CalRecycle has recommended that "On or before July 1, 2025, each producer shall register with the Department." WPO delegation at ConFex 2024, in Vienna! WPO World Packaging Organisation President, Luciana Pellegrino, will participate in the Opening Session of Vienna Sustainable Food Packaging Confex (VSFP), from October 09-11, in Austria. The event is co-organizaded by UNIDO, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), WPO, Packforce Austria and FH Campus Wien | University of Applied Sciences. During the 03 days event, Luciana will also deliver a Keynote Presentation about “Packaging as a tool for global sustainable development”, sharing the stage with Paul Nowak, Executive Director, GreenBlue Org. WPO President will also participate in the Panel “Future Outlook: COP30 Joint Initiative to Accelerate the Sustainable Food Packaging Agenda”. As part of the program, WPO World Packaging Organisation Vice President Sustainability & Save Food, Nerida Kelton FAIP, will speak at the Panel “Navigating the Food Loss and Waste Paradox: Balancing Food Loss and Waste with Save Food Packaging” and WPO General Secretary, Johannes Bergmair, will moderate the Panel “Collectively complying with the evolving regulative landscape of packaging”. Refreshing our label design 2?? Strengthening our data ecosystem 3?? Optimizing our operations 4?? Empowering consumers to make informed disposal decisions The How2Recycle Pro label has been refreshed to be more clear, actionable, and compliant to ensure accuracy no matter when- or where a label is issued. Pending legislative review, the label will soon be available to How2Recycle members in their member portal. We’re also offering members the opportunity to adopt a dynamic QR code label, How2Recycle Plus featuring Recycle Check. This label utilizes data from The Recycling Partnership’s National Recycling Database to provide consumers with localized disposal instructions, and is available to members now!
