Lightshift Energy was recently featured in Renewable Energy World for its first-of-a-kind partnership with Massachusetts Municipal Wholesale Electric Company (MMWEC) to bring 50 MW of energy storage to member utilities and deliver over $200 million in energy savings for Massachusetts residents.? ? Lightshift’s latest project in Paxton, MA, is just the beginning. As Lightshift co-founder Rory Jones puts it, “There’s really a trailblazing application here that we’re trying to see replicated in other markets as well.” ? We look forward to seeing Lightshift bringing battery storage to more communities across the U.S.

Empowering a sustainable world by connecting individuals and institutions with investments in clean energy.
关于我们
Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company is an independent power producer (IPP) and an energy transition-focused investment manager (IM), whose mission is to empower a sustainable world by connecting individuals and institutions with investments in clean energy. Since our founding in 2011, we’ve grown to over 200 employees in four offices—New York City, Portland, ME, Denver, CO, and Montpelier, VT—and other individual locations across the US, and have positioned ourselves as a market expert in energy transition, renewable energy, and sustainable infrastructure investments. Greenbacker’s IPP business segment acquires, owns, and operates income-producing clean energy infrastructure projects (e.g., solar energy, wind power, energy storage) in communities across the country. These assets sell power under long-term contracts to high-credit-quality counterparties, including utilities, municipalities, and corporations. As of 2024, Grenbacker's fleet comprises over 460 projects, representing over 3 gigawatts of total clean energy production and storage capacity. Within our IM business segment, Greenbacker Capital Management (GCM) serves as the registered investment adviser to four strategies focused on green power generation and the energy transition, including private equity investment in growth-stage clean energy companies, across a wide range of sustainable infrastructure and renewables sectors. Greenbacker is committed to the full inclusion of all qualified individuals. As part of this commitment, Greenbacker will ensure that persons with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodations. If reasonable accommodation is needed to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and/or to receive other benefits and privileges of employment, please contact Nicole Giangiulio ([email protected]). Chaberton Energy continues to make a name for itself in the community solar industry. Altus Power, Inc., a premier owner and operator of commercial-scale solar facilities, announced the acquisition of Chaberton’s Project Fairview, a 3.4 MW community solar farm, which will deliver reliable, clean energy to 400 households in Dorchester County, Maryland. We’re proud to invest in a company making renewable energy more accessible to local communities to power a sustainable future.
We are so proud to be partnering with Altus Power, Inc. to bring more clean energy to the grid in our home state of Maryland! Altus has acquired Chaberton's Project Fairview, a 3.4 MW community solar farm located in East New Market, Md. Congratulations?to?Chaberton Energy?and?Pivot Energy?on hosting an exciting groundbreaking to unveil Project Crestone, which will power 500+ homes in Delaware with clean, reliable solar power and it marks Delaware’s first community solar farm. Though construction has just begun, the project is expected to generate electricity in the surrounding communities in 2025.
?? ?????????????????????? ?????????????????? ?????????? ???? ????????????????! ?? Last week, Chaberton held a groundbreaking ceremony in Harrington, Delaware, for Project Crestone, which we're developing in partnership with Pivot Energy. The 5.7 MWdc solar farm will generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of 500+ homes with affordable, renewable electricity. During the ceremony, Delaware Sen. Stephanie Hansen said, "Delaware produces less energy than any other state in the United States...and yet, in 2021, we used 80 times more energy than we actually produced."* She continued, "Building this facility here...is incredibly meaningful, and it's impactful in our state." Crestone's sister site, Project Blackburn, is being built on a similar timeline by Chaberton and Pivot just a few miles north in Magnolia, Delaware. Together, the projects are two of the state's first community solar farms to break ground. Greenbacker Development Opportunities Fund Managing Director Benjamin Baker recently shared his perspective with?Bloomberg’s?Michelle Ma, discussing how the election results may shape the future of green infrastructure and renewable energy over the next four years: “The real thing holding back deployment of sustainable infrastructure is we need permitting reform,” as well as quicker grid connections for clean energy, said Benjamin Baker, a managing director at Greenbacker Capital. “In theory, it should be the Republicans who are more inclined to reduce red tape and make things easier to permit and easier to get done.” Check out more insights from Bloomberg:?
