关于我们
Green Star Families of America is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization created to provide assistance to those grieving any military loss through suicide. We include all family members and all branches of service. It is estimated that 22 veterans die by suicide daily, leaving behind loved ones in need of assistance. We are an organization of family members, fellow veterans and other volunteers who are passionate about assisting families affected by veteran suicide. Our organization is currently working to get legislation passed to recognize the Green Star Flag as an official designation for families affected by veteran suicide. Eventually we hope to be part of national legislation recognizing Green Star Families as an organization similar to Blue and Gold Star Families.

Big News: The Green Star Movement is Gaining Momentum! ???? It looks like the censorship is finally lifting, and the Green Star Service Banner initiative is moving forward FAST! Just three weeks ago, our Green Star TikTok channel started gaining traction with veterans and their families, leading to live discussions and the formation of a powerful community of Green Star wives. These incredible women have created a space where surviving families can connect, heal, and break the stigma. From there, the movement expanded to Facebook, where the Green Star Starlings group was born—and it’s growing rapidly! Seeing so many people find strength and support in these spaces is truly inspiring. Legislation Update: The Fight for Green Star Recognition Continues With this surge of support, pushing for Green Star legislation is more important than ever! We submitted a new Green Star Bill draft to Congressman Van Drew’s team on February 5, 2025. While we are eager for movement, progress takes time—and yes, patience isn’t always easy! But there’s BIG news: We’ve connected with Senator Fetterman’s office and have a meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 25, 2025. We believe he will be a strong advocate, and we hope to see bipartisan cooperation on this critical issue! From Awareness to Action: Introducing the #22LettersADay Challenge! For years, we’ve seen awareness challenges like the 22 push-ups a day movement. But awareness alone isn’t enough—it’s time for ACTION. That’s why we’re launching the #22LettersADay Challenge! ?? How it Works: ? Find your federal representatives (Congress, Senate, VP, President) ? Send them a message urging them to support Green Star legislation ? Repeat daily—22 messages a day to demand action! This is how we turn awareness into real legislative change. Lawmakers need to hear from their constituents to push Green Star forward. Let’s make our voices impossible to ignore! ?? Take up the challenge. Send your letters. Be part of history. ?? #GreenStarServiceBanner #22LettersADay #VeteranMentalHealth #EndTheStigma #LegislateChange For Congress & Senators: https://democracy.io/#!/ For the VP & President: https://lnkd.in/ergDnZ7f Green Star Families of America Amy Amoroso VETERANS HELPING VETERANS OF AMERICA, INC Military Times
