The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) and SETI Institute announced their collaboration agreement as part of a long-term vision to further the development of AlUla Manara Observatory as a leading destination of the future, for space research, discovery and astro-tourism. As part of the agreement, the SETI Institute will facilitate installation of a Laser SETI instrument at AlUla Manara Observatory. LaserSETI, an optical SETI project, monitors the sky for laser flashes that could indicate the presence of non human made technology. The LaserSETI station would be part of a broader network scanning the entire northern hemisphere night sky from various locations. “Curiosity unites us all as humans, and science is a powerful way to bring people closer together from different geographies and cultural backgrounds.” said Bill Diamond. Milken Highlights and Lessons: - The best in class Wall Street and Economics quantitative and analytical presentations. - A reunion of international business community and friends. - All the side events and their diversity. - Prominence is a currency, regardless of irrelevance to the subject. - Elon Musk saying one thing I hadn’t heard him say before:“life can’t be about solving one problem after another, you gotta have some curiosity and passion to explore.” It reminded me of why we always try to mimic the curiosity of a child but never can. Children are less aware of the geo politics, adversities, scarcity of time and health etc, so they explore fully without distraction. Another lesson I’ve learned in the past few years is to become resolved with the fact that being an adult is to accept having complex feelings of joy despite sorrow, love despite disappointments, faith before reaching proof, courage despite fear. So perhaps we can have curiosity and passion for exploration while feeling guilty for not doing enough for the problems at hand. - Meeting founder of Axiom Space Kam Ghaffarian. It’s nice to meet someone who knows how to keep planting trees in whose shade he may never sit in. A true visionary in the Space sector.
