We're thrilled to launch our new Green brand! Our original Green logo dates back to the late 1970s, when we were a small team of about 20. Now, as we've grown and evolved, it's time for our visual identity to do the same. While our core values and dedication to excellent design and engineering services have not changed, our new logo better reflects our firm’s commitment to embracing change and being an inclusive and growth-mindset company. With this new branding, we step into the future with confidence, knowing it's not just a visual change, but a reaffirmation of who we are. We look forward to many more years of continued growth and success, proudly representing Green in everything we do. Visit our website to learn more about our new brand: https://hubs.li/Q02wzwDK0

  • Our Charitable Committee recently organized an afternoon of volunteering at Mass Audubon’s Habitat Education Center and Wildlife Sanctuary, building on our ongoing relationship with Mass Audubon. We started the day with a tour of some of the trail areas within the sanctuary, learning about its unique ecosystems, before heading to one of their meadows to pull invasive species. Afterwards, we even spent some time with the sanctuary’s resident goats! Our team’s efforts were part of a larger commitment to support local conservation, and Green is proud to have also made a donation to help further Mass Audubon’s important work.

A group of Green employees recently organized an informal charity basketball tournament, where teams competed for the opportunity to contribute to a charity of their choice. The winning team, comprised of many of our structural engineers, decided to donate all proceeds to the Alzheimer’s Association. Thanks to the efforts of Green’s Charitable Contribution Committee, Green matched the contribution amount to double the total contribution. We appreciate everyone who played, donated, or came out to support, and we look forward to hosting this event again next year!

Green's Social Committee recently held an after work social event for employees to enjoy some fresh ocean air and camaraderie! We had a great evening cruising around Boston Harbor with Cycleboat Boston and taking in the views. At Green, we encourage work-life balance, and our Social Committee holds monthly events to help achieve that. We are thankful for these informal opportunities to form deeper connections outside of the office, so we can continue to foster our relationships with one another, especially in our hybrid office environment. We look forward to the next Social Committee outing!

Congratulations to Green’s Danielle Spicer, PE, LEED AP, ENV SP, for recently being awarded the 2024 Boston Society of Civil Engineers Section (BSCES) President's Award! BSCES recognized Danielle, former President of BSCES, for her dedication and support, and for her two, three-year terms of service as the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Region 1 Governor. As an ASCE Region 1 Governor, she served on a board comprised of seven governors and a society director who serves as chair, and helped to cultivate the relationships between her local section, other Sections within Region 1, and the National Board of Direction. Region 1 represents ASCE members from CT, MA, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VT, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec. Green is excited to share that we have been awarded a 2024 Merit award by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Vermont (ACEC/VT), for the design of the Springfield STP CULV (47) culvert rehabilitation project, for the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans). ACEC/VT recognized us for our successful rehabilitation design of the previously corroded 56” and 77” corrugated metal pipe (CMP) culverts located 40 feet below US Route 5, in Springfield, VT. Green’s design used centrifugally cast concrete pipe (CCCP), a cost-effective, trenchless technique, that repairs and extends the life of the culverts and maintains their structural strength and stability. Given the significant depth of the culverts, major concerns when evaluating different treatment options included slope stability, erosion prevention, constructability, and impacts to environmental resources. This is VTrans’ first culvert rehabilitation of this magnitude, highlighting the potential for future culvert projects to rehabilitate culverts using trenchless methods instead of replacing them using more traditional open-cut techniques, thus eliminating inconvenience to the public and resulting in more sustainable culvert projects. Green's Angelica Vazquez-Diaz, Jamie Keel, Frances Eisinger, Dennis Vertiyev, and Mike Cruz had the honor of accepting the award at the ACEC/VT Engineering Excellence Awards Gala. Green sponsored, volunteered at, and played in The Engineering Center Education Trust’s (TECET) 32nd Annual Golf Tournament. We look forward to this event to each year, as the proceeds support TECET's efforts in enhancing the impact of the Massachusetts engineering and land surveying community. TECET is dedicated to advancing the engineering and land surveying professions by providing educational programs, scholarships, and outreach initiatives. They provide scholarships, fund educational programs, and promote initiatives that inspire and equip the next generation of engineers and surveyors. Thank you to all the other sponsors, players, and volunteers that helped make this a successful event, including Green’s own Ko Ishikura (TECET Chair), Joe Labrecque, Frank Tramontozzi, Jasmine Strout, and Nina Deuterio! #TheEngineeringCenterEducationTrust #TECET #Golf #Engineering
