Green Halo Scholars

Last week's Trivia Night was a resounding success! ?? We're incredibly grateful to everyone who participated and helped us raise over $3,500 for Green Halo Scholars. A special thank you to our anonymous board member whose generous sponsorship means 100% of these funds will directly benefit our scholars' educational journeys. ?? We had a blast testing our knowledge and building community. Take a look at some of the highlights! ??

?? Green Halo Scholars Panel Night Recap! ?? We had an incredible evening last week where our college scholars Meida (Boston University, '28), Fatim (Western Illinois, '28), and Francesca (North Central College, '25) shared their experiences and insights with our high school scholars. The panel discussion focused on getting involved on campus, but our scholars also asked questions about all aspects of college life – from balancing their time and finding a community to dorm life and dealing with homesickness. ?? It was a fantastic opportunity for our high school scholars to gain valuable advice and connect with their peers. They also had the chance to meet with Green Halo staff to discuss their current college options and spend time talking with each other. ?? A huge thank you to The Community House for providing us with the space to meet and make this event possible! ??

Excited to add Lewis University to the list of our college partnerships! ??As part of our partnership program, Lewis University will cover full tuition for up to two scholars each year! ??Plus, our students are invited to join their summer bridge program to ease the transition to college. ????

With the unwavering support of his mentor, Nate discovered the perfect school for him and secured additional scholarships to make college more affordable. We're excited to share the impact in our Annual Report: ?? 27 high school scholars matriculated to colleges with an average out-of-pocket cost of just $?????? per year. ?? 76 college scholars completed the fall semester with an average ?????? ???? ??.????. ?? 9 scholars from the Class of 2024 graduated from college, with ??????% securing jobs in their field or getting accepted into graduate school. ??
