Lalit Mohan Sharma and Aparajeeta Vaibhav from S M Sehgal Foundation were invited to present at a NITI Aayog workshop on "Sustaining Groundwater Sources for Drinking Water Supply" in Bhubaneswar, Orissa. Our innovative approach on "Creating Fresh Water Pocket with Saline Aquifer" and insights on "Household Water Treatment" were selected for discussion, showcasing solutions for groundwater sustainability. This workshop reinforced the urgent need for collective action bringing together policymakers, scientists, technologists, and communities to secure groundwater sources for current and future generations. Glaciers have a profound effect on the Earth's climate as well as being in turn controlled by climate changes. Think of the insulation that ice sheets would offer to water beneath them in seas and oceans, protecting life beneath, from the effects of frozen waters; think of the control role glaciers play in sea level fluctuations, and most crucially, a great source of fresh water that it is. We wouldn't want to break the water cycle, then we want to preserve and protect our glaciers. At Green Conceptions Africa (GCA), we strive to foster sustainability in the management and preservation of our rich natural resources including water in its various usage ways.
