Exciting Hygiene News from Great Lakes Dental Partners! ?? On Monday, GLDP took a trip to visit the Southern Illinois University, Carbondale Dental Hygiene Program (SIU)—Illinois’ only 4-year bachelor’s program in dental hygiene. While Carbondale is located outside our geographic footprint, over 75% of its students hail from or return to the Chicagoland suburbs and metro area, making it a great opportunity to connect with future hygienists. GLDP Hygiene leader and VP of Clinical Services Sarah Velasco RDH BSDH, Team HR Carrington Morgan & Emma Gilliam, and our CEO Peter Roehmholdt joined SIU Hygiene Professors and Program Director, Stacey McKinney and Jennifer McKinnies for an engaging class presentation. We were thrilled to meet the incredible SIU students and share insights about career opportunities and hygiene mentorship we provide within our network. We are so grateful to both Stacey and Jennifer for the warm welcome and gracious invitation to SIU. We’ve already started this partnership on a strong note—this October, GLDP sponsored the SIU Pickleball RDH event in celebration of Dental Hygiene Appreciation Month. And there’s more to come! We look forward to welcoming SIU students to learn more about our offices and hygiene mentorship over the winter break and hosting an alumni event with SIU at the ?? Chicago Dental Society’s Midwinter Meeting in February 2025. What a Night to Remember with Our Indiana Team! ?? Last night, we hosted our first-ever Holiday Social with all of our Indiana practices at the beautiful Journeyman Distillery in Valparaiso, and it was nothing short of amazing! We gifted over $1,000 in raffle and door prizes—from a massive Bourbon Advent Calendar to Beats Headphones and Journeyman’s Whiskey—and the excitement was electric! It was such a joy to see our incredible team laughing, connecting, and toasting the season over great food and really, really good drinks. Journeyman provided the perfect setting, but it was the energy, enthusiasm, and camaraderie of our Indiana teammates that made the night truly special. A huge shout-out to Emma Gilliam for curating such a wonderful event—we couldn’t have done it without you! Congratulations to our Shore U Graduates: Khuzaan Screwvalla (Director of IT), Joseph Palko (Business Intelligence Manager), Tori Melgar (Regional Director of Operations), Sarah Velasco (VP of Clinical Services), and Lauren Galassini (Marketing Manager). ??

Our provider network grew by two this week with the addition of Dr. Robert Blumenthal and Dr. Justin Toth! Dr. Blumenthal joins the Manus Lake Zurich and Metro Square team, and Dr. Toth adds to the Associates for Dental Care team. Both of our new doctors had a warm welcome and a great first week clinically, far exceeding any new doctor goal! Please join us in welcoming our two newest providers. Dr. Justin Toth is originally from Arlington Heights and currently resides in Chicago. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota, completed his master’s at Tulane University, and received his dental degree from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry. Dr. Toth is committed to providing the best care for his patients and is dedicated to advancing his knowledge through continued education and training. Outside of work, Dr. Toth enjoys golfing, exploring new cuisines and restaurants, and cheering on Chicago sports teams. He is also passionate about traveling, tackling the New York Times crossword! A music enthusiast, Dr. Toth has created hundreds of Spotify playlists, with classic rock being his favorite genre. His friends describe him as caring, dedicated, and funny. Dr. Robert Blumenthal brings 25 years of dentistry experience to our team. A graduate of the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Blumenthal is well-versed in all phases of clinical dentistry. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, served on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Academy of General Dentistry, and was awarded an honorary fellowship in the Academy of Dentists International. Additionally, he is a sustaining member of the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Blumenthal is involved in animal charities and volunteers his time at Orphans of the Storm, an animal shelter. He is currently fostering a dog and is a registered horse handler with Pet Partners, a charity that brings disabled children and adults together with therapy horses. When not working, Dr. Blumenthal enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, dining out, and gardening. We are thrilled to have Dr. Toth and Dr. Blumenthal on board and look forward to the expertise and passion they bring to our practice.

We're excited to welcome two outstanding providers to the GLDP network. Dr. Akshi Gandhi joins us at Manus Dental Yorkville, and Dr. Mohammad Salameh joins the team at Southshore Michigan City. Dr. Akshi Gandhi graduated from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 2014 and completed a General Practice Residency at Jesse Brown VA in 2015. With a decade of experience as a dentist, she is thrilled to join the GLDP team in Yorkville. Dr. Gandhi is a team player who truly believes that teamwork makes the dream work! Dr. Mohammad Salameh is a new graduate of the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry. He is passionate about providing people with healthy and happy smiles and is dedicated to educating and encouraging patients to improve and maintain their oral health. He is team-oriented and enjoys a friendly work environment. Welcoming these new providers has been fantastic, and their on site orientation with HR, Compliance, IT, RCM, and Clinical Operations was a great opportunity to get everyone aligned and ready to succeed together. Both Dr. Akshi Gandhi and Dr. Mohammad Salameh embody our mission, vision, and core values of: Service, Mastery, Integrity, Leadership, and Entrepreneurial Thinking.
