Coleman Talley Strategies LLC was pleased to host a public policy breakfast for CTS client the Greater Valdosta United Way in our Valdosta office.?GVUW CEO Michael Smith presented on the importance of funding the 211 system which allows residents to dial 211 rather than 911 to receive critical human services information.?We appreciate State Representatives John LaHood, James Burchett, and State Rep. Dexter Sharper along with Representative-elect Jaclyn Ford, PSC Chair Jason Shaw, and Charles White from Congressman Austin Scott’s office for joining us.

Powering and empowering people is at the heart of what we do. Verizon has been working hard to support our employees and customers in the communities devasted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Today, the Verizon Foundation is leaning in to support those communities?with a total of $2 million in donations to aid relief and recovery efforts. This contribution will provide essential support to those impacted by the storms, reinforcing Verizon’s commitment to helping communities rebuild in the aftermath of natural disasters. The donations include $1 million to the American Red Cross to assist with emergency relief and recovery efforts for both Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. The remaining $1 million is directed to various regional organizations providing crucial services on the ground in the hardest-hit areas, including $400,000 allocated to organizations in Florida for Hurricane Milton relief and $600,000 to support communities in Georgia and North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene.?The organizations include Volunteer Florida, United Way of North Carolina, Second Harvest of South Georgia, Greater Valdosta United Way, Community Foundation for the CSRA, and Georgia Foundation for Agriculture.
