  • The Inaugural Camp GTL Alumni Retreat Was a Success! ???? This past weekend, 20 GTL alumni, spanning nearly 20 years (2006-2025), gathered at the Cooper Center for Environmental Learning (aka Camp Cooper) for an unforgettable retreat filled with leadership, connection, and inspiration. We were honored to welcome Mike Candrea , legendary UA Softball Coach & 8-Time NCAA Champion, as our keynote speaker, sharing insights on leadership and perseverance. Alumni also engaged in powerful sessions led by Howard Stewart on Being a Mentor and Janet Rico Uhrig, M.Ed., SPHR, SHRM-SCP on Intergenerational Communication, sparking meaningful discussions and new perspectives. We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors who made this weekend possible. Awakening Minds, LLC provided a delicious dinner, ProVoice1 sponsored lunch, and Raysun Frost & Roots & Roads Community Hospice Foundation kept us fueled with snacks. Special thanks to Damschen Financial Planning, Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona, and VEGA Americas for their generous swag bag contributions. Most of all, THANK YOU to our incredible alumni who showed up, reconnected, and embraced the spirit of lifelong leadership. GTL’s mission is to recognize, develop, and engage driven leaders to be catalysts for change—and this weekend, we truly lived that mission. • This morning, GTL staff, board members, and alumni came together at the 20th Annual Women United Business Breakfast to support early childhood literacy. Hosted by United Way, the event highlighted how “Early Education is Everyone’s Business” and celebrated champions making a difference. With 6 out of 10 kids in Southern Arizona struggling to read by third grade, investing in literacy is investing in our future leaders. We’re proud to stand with our community to ensure every child has the foundation they need to succeed! #LeadershipInAction #EarlyEducationMatters

  • February 20, 2025 - This morning, GTL CEO Justin Lukasewicz had an engaging conversation with our fellow Gaymber members at the Tucson LGBT Chamber breakfast! From exploring how GTL fosters inclusive leadership to discussing real-world team-building strategies that strengthen collaboration across diverse communities, we dove into what it truly means to lead with intersectionality, equity, and trust. Today’s conversation was a great example of how we recognize, develop, and engage driven leaders to be catalysts for change! A huge thank you to everyone who brought such thoughtful questions! We love being part of this vibrant community and can’t wait to see you all at next month’s breakfast. ????? Proud Gaymber members, always! #GTLTucson #Gaymber #LGBTChamber #InclusiveLeadership #CommunityConnections #BelongingMatters
