Last November, GPH employees participated in Arts & Health month by creating finger-painted art for each of our health centers. The completed projects were unveiled at our recent all-staff meeting and have now been moved to their corresponding sites. Aaron, Wilson, Bruno, and Sebastiao brought the pictured signs to be displayed at our Bayside and Riverside locations to celebrate how art contributes to health, healing, well-being, and social connectedness.

December 1st is World AIDS Day, a global movement to unite people in the fight against HIV and AIDS. Today is a day to show strength and solidarity against HIV stigma and to remember lives lost. Frannie Peabody Center will be hosting a candlelight vigil on Monday, December 2nd at 5:30PM in Congress Square Park in Portland. HIV cannot be cured, but it can be treated: medications such as PrEP and PEP work to prevent infection from spreading to others. Talk to your Greater Portland Health provider about getting tested. #WorldAIDSDay

South Portland Superintendent Tim Matheney reflected upon how our partnership makes healthcare more accessible to students, saying, "A student's wellness is intimately connected to their ability to learn [...] when they're healthier, they can learn better."
