We’re Hiring for a Lead Guide! This is a Temporary, $40/hour, 40 hours/week position for six weeks (July 22-August 30th; Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM). Lead Guides will work in collaboration with the Director of Youth Initiatives, Youth Program Manager, and other colleagues to lead GMCC’s summer youth programming: LakeStreet Youth Labs STEAM Summer. Responsibilities include developing and delivering curriculum for youth ages 5-18; liaising with caregivers; and designing and executing evaluation and assessment strategies. I’ve spent most of my volunteer time over the last few years as a member of the Sanctuary Supply Depot, a mutual aid organization that collects and distributes basic survival supplies to our unhoused neighbors in Minneapolis and St. Paul. Happy New Year’s Eve! We can’t believe 2023 is already over. It’s been a busy, exciting year for us, which wouldn’t have been possible without our generous donors & funders. Here’s what your donation did in 2023: - Helped 274 food shelves raise $11.2 million and 6.2 million pounds of food - Distributed 3,546 hot meals and 2,615 bags of food - Engaged 58 youth in 200 hours of out-of-school STEAM learning this summer - Served 71 parents & youth with 31 hours or STEAM curriculum and lessons on supporting your children - Offered 40 hours of tutoring & homework help for youth grades 1-12 - Provided showers, hot meals, clothes, hygiene products, and computer access for 309 unhoused individuals - Supported over 150 individuals with culturally-specific peer recovery coaching - Provided 40 hours of open computer lab and digital navigation support to community members Thank you so much for supporting our work this year!
