#TuesdayTip: Support the caregivers in your life! ?? Caring for a loved one with dementia can be a thankless and demanding journey, and a little support from friends and family can go a long way. Here are some simple ways to help: ?? Offer Practical Help: Small gestures like running errands, cooking a meal, or taking over for an hour can make a big difference. ?? Be a Listening Ear: Sometimes caregivers just need someone to talk to. Offer a compassionate ear without judgment. ?? Show Appreciation: A quick “thinking of you” message, a handwritten note, or a small gift can remind caregivers they’re not alone. Every bit of kindness counts. Let’s support those who give so much of themselves. https://lnkd.in/gzFfBj9b #GreaterLansingCareFoundation?

While many of us adjust our clocks without much trouble, this morning’s time change for Daylight Savings can be especially disorienting for someone with dementia. You may notice increased sundowning symptoms in loved ones with dementia. Sundowning — anxiety, confusion, or agitation that often worsens in the late afternoon or evening — can become more intense with disrupted routines and earlier sunsets. ?? #CaregiverTip: Help your loved one through daylight savings by maintaining a regular routine, limiting sleep disruptors like caffeine and daytime naps, and encouraging natural sunlight exposure with a daily walk. Keep their environment comfortable, well-lit, and at a moderate temperature to support a sense of security and relaxation.
