Yesterday, with the room full of spectators, the KC Chamber and Kansas City Public Safety Coalition, hosted a screening of the Kansas City PBS documentary, “A Tale of Three Cities: The Search for a KC Crime Fix”. Following the screening, a panel discussion was held with the documentary filmmaker, Michael Price and public safety leaders like Kansas City Missouri Police Department Chief Stacey Graves and Kansas City, Kansas Police Department Chief Karl Oakman. Additional panelists included KC Common Good’s Klassie Alcine and P.O.S.S.E. founder Ossco Bolton. The discussion was moderated by Emmet Pierson, Jr., President and CEO, Community Builders of Kansas City. A theme of united action emerged from the discussion with all panelists urging members of the community to get involved in efforts to reduce violence in Kansas City. This is a regional issue that impacts neighborhoods throughout the area, and it will take everyone working together to solve it. After signing a Host City Rights Agreement with FIFA for the FIFA World Cup 26?, Kansas City FWC 26 can now offer marketing assets, tickets and hospitality amenities through a limited number of Host City Supporter packages. This is the first time FIFA has allowed Host Cities to sell local sponsorships for the FIFA World Cup?, unlocking a new, key funding mechanism for organizing committees like KC2026. The Kansas City Chiefs are playing at home tonight, taking on the New Orleans Saints at GEHA Field At Arrowhead with a start time of 7:15 p.m. Parking lots open at 2:30 p.m. Fans should expect to see heavy delays due to rush hour traffic on Interstates 435 and 70, as well as streets around the Truman Sports Complex due to the start time of Monday’s game. Through interactive discussions and case studies, participants will explore the challenges faced by immigrants, learn actionable strategies for creating a sense of belonging, and understand the role of allyship in promoting equity.
