When we think about impact, we often find ourselves wishing for human-centered design having the chance to inspire how policymakers do their work. And this newly published report by the Washington State Department of Commerce is one of those rare examples. In order to design a statewide monthly low-income energy assistance program that provides efficient, quality and equitable bill assistance to low-income households, the Department took the radical approach to seek out the voices of actual residents impacted by this legislation. We're deeply honored to have contributed to this report and hope other state legislators can find inspiration in their residents to shape future policies. https://lnkd.in/gm79dajc

We often wonder what our clients feel makes working with us feel different than other design consultants. Cathy Albisa was kind enough to share her thoughts on the topic and it comes down to ownership: "In our previous work with consultants, the work gets done but it never becomes fully integrated because no one in the organization really feels ownership of the work. Working with Greater Good Studio was so different. They brought the additional capacity we needed, but they also worked so closely with our team that we retained a strong sense of ownership of the work we’re truly proud of." Fireside Chats are back! After taking a break for a couple of months to retool, we're bringing our beloved Fireside Chats back, but this time, we are using a much-simplified booking system through Eventbrite. Starting September 26, join us for our monthly, virtual, judgment-free space, where you'll meet a global community of change-makers to talk about what social impact design is and past projects we’ve worked on and hear about our attendees’ experiences in social innovation. We’ll answer any questions you might have about the studio and offer tips on how you can start designing for social impact yourself. As always, they're free to attend, and you can join us as many times as you like. https://lnkd.in/gT62659h
