Congratulations to Center for Community Justice for receiving a Quarterly Nonprofit Award from the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce Business Recognition Council! In 1978, a groundbreaking initiative known as the Victim Offender Reconciliation Program (VORP) was born in Elkhart County, IN. It marked a pivotal moment in the United States' criminal justice system—a moment that embraced compassion, healing, and reconciliation. Restorative Justice shifts the focus from broken laws and incarceration to repairing broken lives and healing damaged relationships. CCJ has been working to build an agency where all the programs are true to the principles of restorative justice: creating opportunities where all of Elkhart County can heal from the harms that happen in relationships and in life whether through business, neighborhood conflict, or crime. They also provide additional services to the community, including coaching, mediation, facilitation, and conflict coaching.
